Thats pretty disgraceful, you should be charged or released within a month at the most! Unless theres concrete evidence which in this case there dosnt appear to be.

The thing is, nobody knows what they are. All you guys with the [Con] prefix make the same mistake: You presuppose they are enemy combatants and guilty (of course) simply because they are prisoners. Well guess what...
For fucks sake he was a goddamn AP reporter! Why should he be given the prisoner treatment in the first place? He did nothing!!!

And generally what I mean is, you're in a war against an invisible enemy - given that terrorists could be anywhere and anyone, regardless of nationality and background (yes they could be American citizens).

So essentially if what GWB is suggesting becomes a law, he will be able to bypass the present justice system by accusing ANYONE (yes, you too) of being a terrorist and send him over to be trialled by fucking military tribunals and be tortured by the CIA and be sent to fucking secret prisons for indefinite amounts of time and without the least bit of control by anyone.

Love comes back to you ATG, its great to know my cantankerousness affects neo-con leaders.

Question: What does this guy know, what pictures does he have that he would be locked up?

So what I think your saying is, its ok to detain the 13000 ppl in Iraqi jails with no trial and no rights? Its ok to keep the prisoners at Camp X=ray and god knows how many other secret Prisons across the world, all with no trial, to legal representation and no hope. But an Iraqi press man who might write something unfavorable, basically THE TRUTH, about America should be ass kissed and courted into making his story more "US friendly" and the rest can basically rot.

WOW the ignorance amazes me here. Alls thats being asked by the clarification of Article3 of the GC is Clarification of the WORDING. Because as we ALL know, Wording of ANY document can be interpreted in any way ANY country with different beliefs See's fit. A clarification would Benefit All countries in this war on terrorism and in any future wars. I would think People with minds filled with understanding rather than just blind HATE for just one man would understand this. But i digress, I might be wrong.

As for the reporter, Dunno, It was wrong to keep him detained. As for Any secret prisons i say YAY!!! So far its saved 14 planes from being blown to shit and led to the capture or DEATH of a dozen of the top 15 Terrorist leaders. I say Good Job there!

Get what we deserve? I'd say the Muslim terrorist are NOT getting what they deserve.

When we deal with signers to the Geneva convention, we respect it.

I think putting boots on the ground was a mistake. If we hadn't done that we would not be debating this.
It's a fairly hopeless situation. Bush took all the good will of the world after 9-11 and spent it all in Iraq.
It was a major fuck up in that the people are not interested in our way of life. Removing Saddam
only increased the size of Iran. Its one fucking country now and, yes, Bush is a moron for doing it.
Not for attacking Iraq, for putting boots on the ground.

We were all behind him after 9-11, most Americans.
Bombing them senseless would have been preferrable to me, until they complied with U.N. mandates. Now its done I believe we have two choices; flood the country with troops and seal the border, or leave it to Iran and the Kurds and NUKE them if they ENABLE terrorist to have WMD's.
We just let them know that we hold them, meaning the newly enlarged Iran, and indeed all Muslims collectively responcible for attacks on American soil.

Harsh maybe, but this is a war. Don't worry, The White House will not do much more than make the situation worse by a general lack of action or plan that anybody can see.
But it's what I'd do.
