This is for American citizens, since they pay taxes in US, they have the right to debate about how their money is being spent.  You may debate the way they are spending your money and the way you would like it to be spent.

Domestic issues option: includes things like health system, education, rebuilding N.O., preventing N.O. to get fucked again, citizens security, and other stuff.

Foreign Affairs option: includes supporting other countries with money and/or equipment to defend it from other countries f.i. Israel, sending soldiers 12000 miles away to support a country or to free a country from dictatorships, get involved in any war against a threat to the world.

Both options: these would include the two options above, but you would have to distribute the money in each option.

Pleasde don't take it on me, I won't take part in the debate, I only want to see what do you guys want.
After all theese threads talking about if war is right or wrong and about Bush administration, what do you think?

Yes, in local forums, of course, but I don't think it would be interesting for you guys.  Anyway, I only posted a poll, you have the decision.  But, if you want we can debate about all the shit that is happening in Argentina.

DUDE... Foreign spending isn't just about wars and crap like that.... a LOT of foreign spending is about for instance buying land, granting loans, buying stuff (like oil or minerals), agreeing on echange rates and purchase prices. Fixing trade problems, fishing rights, border disputes etc. etc.... ALL of this crap costs money... You can't just consider lons and wars, vs. everything spent domestically !!!!!

Where do you think all the money is going to, in all the things you mentioned or war?  You have the third option where you have a balance bewtween both domestic and foreign issues.

If I was an American, I would have them spent on Domestic Affairs. A leftish country like Iceland has got high taxes, but the healthcare and school systems are almost completely free.

You guys have the Value Added Tax.  We have sales tax.  I also think the VAT covers some of the income tax as well, right?

No, here in Argentina you go to the supermarket and all the shit you buy has 21% tax, and that does not cover any income tax, which you pay once a year if you are your own boss (10%-33% for people and 33% for companies) and monthly for employees.  Here you pay VAT and income tax.

I think the obvious answer is the following - no one wants to pay for a war.  Ask the same question when a war isn't going on and you'll get different results.

45% of current foreign aid is going into Iraq - by the way or $10.23B.  By the way this is all Non-Military spending.

Also, I'd like to tell you to go away.  It's our money.

I would go away, I know it's your money.  But you know what?  When you decide to go into a war you affect a lot of countries.  We had two attacks here in Argentina after the first Gulf War.  They killed more than 200 people.  And I asked myself what the fuck do we have to do with this?  If Israel hadn't maintained this policy in the Middle East supported by US and UK, then we hadn't been attacked.
I don't care about your money, I care about my own country security.

All the people who died were Argentine.  Tey were two attacks to Israelis targets, but why did those happen?

According to wikipedia:
Israel Embassy Attack:
A group called Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility; their stated motive for the attack was Israel's assassination of Hezbollah leader Sheikh Abbas al-Musawi. On February 16, 1992, Israeli helicopters had attacked a motorcade in southern Lebanon, killing Musawi, his wife, son, and four others. Israel said the attack had been planned as an assassination attempt.
AMIA Bombing:
Argentina, Israel and the US[1] suspect that Hezbollah was behind the attack, with backing from Iran. Hezbollah denies responsibility.[2] Israeli diplomatic sources who read the "final" report by SIDE on the attack said in 2003 that the attack was a suicide bombing carried out by Ibrahim Hussein Berro, a 29-year-old Muslim who has been honored with a plaque in southern Lebanon for his "martyrdom" on July 18, 1994, the date of the bombing.

I'm sure if Israel wouldn't be such a terrorist state, we would be safer.  That won't happen until US stop supporting Israel.  Now, do you understand?

Ok, sorry.  I didn't not follow some of the links in the one that you provided.  It did say everything is allegations - but I'll take them as truth.  (By the way I would not make a great police officer - I'd be arresting everyone.  I believe that proven links to unsavory people/ways = prison time).

I understand what you are saying.  This is another version of blame Israel/US or blame the terrorists.

I'm going to blame the terrorists.  You are not.  Debate over.

I do blame the terrorists.  But the motivation they had came from Israel terrorism acts on Palestine, Lebanon and else.  In fact I blame all the terrorists involved, those who bombed the two places and Israel.  US has some responsibility since it's always backing Israel.

I blame Argentina for having an Israeli embassy to bomb.

Edit: Sorry, lost my temper.  I'm tried of having the US being blamed for everything.  The above is an example of the logic you are using...in my opinion.

No country should have one, that's true, until Israel changes its policies.
I blame politicians not US citizens.  It's time for the world to stop looking to the other side while Israel commits all kind of crimes in the Middle East.

Please accept my apology.  I did not mean to disrespect you, your opinion, or your countrymen in anyway.

Back on topic:
Domestic issues get you reelected.
Foreign issues are long-term thinking.

Should be a good debate.

About a year ago I read a plan for eliminating world hunger - a Robin Hood type plan.  The payoff would be an overall economic benefit for the entire globe - developing the economies of the underpriviledged countries.

I think some of the reaction you are getting is based on foreign military aid.  Too bad you didn't make it "Foreign aid - non-military", "Foreign aid - military", and "Domestic" in a multiple select poll.  Obviously we cannot eliminate all three.  There is a progressive argument FOR military aid.  The problem isn't GIVING foreign military aid, it's the politics behind WHERE its going.

I think we are giving Israel aid out of convenience - they are affront to so-called "enemies" of the US.  So it's sort of like the lesser of two evils.

Don't worry, and accept my apologies as well if you felt attacked in anyway.

I put the poll in Domestic and Foreign Issues only, because it's important what the tax payer thinks about the destination his money has.  Since your country has a huge deficit and some domestic issues have been missed by this administration, I thought it was better doing a black and white poll, with the grey Both option.
