I thought so it's just that my friend was being a fag and saying that he could run on high. What is the minimum video card to run high

A Albatron GeForce 7900GS 256MDDR3 256bit Dual DVI/TVO PCI-Express should be able to right?

I can run high with my X1300 PRO 512MB as long as I dont do more than 40 or so players, with my 9700 TX 128 I would run slightly higher than med. and it ran okay but to much higher then that and you have a slide show.

But if he doesnt mind it almost freezing when arti hits or someone grenades him, then he might have it in high but in a lower rez.

Both of these are AGP 8X

you need 2gb ram to run high, doesnt matter on the card really., the card just need to be above a 6600, or 9500

I had a 9800 pro and I could run on medium with decent fps, but there is nothing above a x1900xt

i had a 9600SE, it ran fine on medium, but i liked running it on low for the extra FPS. my new 7600GS pwns all though.

the ram helps  but there's no fucking way a 6600 or 9500 will run bf2 with high settings

I have a Bfg 7800 GS oc agp with a 3200+ and 1.5 Gig . Every thing on high and i'm getting 55-65 fps . PM me if you want my specs on my system. I really don't think you can run everything on high with a 9600. My second machine has a 9800 pro and its glichy.

The thing you REALLY need to understand is that the difference between high and medium settings is barely noticable.  There are a couple exceptions like draw distance, lighting and shadows, but otherwise if you compare screenshots they are not too far apart.  God only knows how much money has been spent to get from medium settings to high but in the heat of battle you will never care....

That being said, your 9600 should be replaced.  don't worry if you cant afford a card that will run at high settings though, medium settings are close enough to live with.

okay:

yes, a 6600GT will run bf2 on high...all high...with AA@4x trust me...do you want the screenshots?

ram will help if you run on high...1gb is a minimum, 2gb will reduce/remove all start-of-round lag.

orly? i sold it to a friend of mine when i got my new card...ill have him take some screenshots and show you...its not oc'd, but is PCI-e, 8pixel pipelines, and 128mb ram. it got around 40-45 fps on bf2, with settings all high, AA 4x, 100% VD, etc.

Well technically it all depends on what the rest of his PC is. If it's all high end stuff then sure he can.

I run a X1900XT 512MB card, P4 3.8, 1GB ram. I run all on high at 1600x1200 and 2xaa and average 50FPS.
