Ive heard many opinions from several people. Apparently from what ive gathered even with 1GB RAM, low texture setting is what you should be running. 1.5GB -= medim and 2GB+ = high.

I know I run medium and I have 1GB RAm and I still lag for a good 2 minutes upon entering a 64 man server or a server with like 35/40 players.

So im just curious to know what I should be running with 1Gb RAM?

- And dureing intense fighting with like alot of players on the screen, I lag like mad...

damn nice set up. I would have to think my video card can run Bf2 on high textures. My HDD is fine and my GPU is decent, CPU could use some work...but it seems ok.

My memory is pc3200 dual channel.

I have 1gig Ram and run all High settings cept dynamic lighting which is meduim. I get a little choppy for the first min or so on 64 maps, but it goes away and runs perfactly fine after that.

It's up to u what u want to run. I like the game to look good so i run high. It doesn't take away THAT much performance.

My rig: GeForce 6800 Ultra 256mb, 1Gig Ram, 3.4G P4

My x800GTO is about equal to a 6800GT. 6800GT has about 15% performance lead according to gpureview.com.

So would do you guys think I should do? Could my HDD be screwed up? memory be messed up?

I have 1gb, and run everything high with 1024X768 resoloution except for lighting, the lagging aint so bad on most maps, its only on those huge friggen chineese plane based maps like dragon valley and fu she pass, when i getting hella lag, heck, playing poe2 is impossible i can be looking at the same screen when i spawn for a good 5-10 mins.
I did buy another gb of ram a couple of days ago off ebay, but the thing is FECKING FAULTY and i had to send it back .

Pc spec is as follows

3ghz p4 prescott cpu
1gb of ddr400 ram
256mb 6800GT AGP graphics card
Audigy 2zs sound card.
80gb SATA hard drive (i used to have 2 running in RAID0 config, but 1 broke )

1GB is good but nothing like 2GB. But you will still feel the benefit of keeping everything low and view distance 100% if your graphics card is not up to much. High and medium is just eye candy. If you want to play and keep the FPS up then keep it low and get 256MB min graphics card. Plus make sure your hard disk run over 7.5k and no shit processors (celeron etc...)

You'll be sorted!

I'm now running

all medium w/ textures on high, 2x AA 1024x768...with a little bit of lag. It lags for the 1st few minutes then goes away. But dureing the round I still get pauses and what not.

I'm almost 100% sure its my HDD. I got a old IDE HDD. I took it from my HP and put it into the PC I built, and its doing well, but I suppose its not good for gameing.

My mobo also for some reason works only with specific brands of RAM and the memory I have isnt on the supported list, yet it works...hmmm

there is little visual diference between medium and high, but a lot of performance difference. Stick with medium!
