eh, I think they're okay if you can hide them with normal clothing and are tasteful and meaningful. Absolutely covering your entire body isn't an aesthetic I appreciate but I get why some people might.

i understand people who say it 'means something to them', and who am i to tell them otherwise, but it's just not for me. i have things that are meaningful to me too, just free of the compulsion to inscribe it on my body. i recommend a little diary in the top-left drawer of your desk.
the 'covering your entire body' thing is just a normal fashion arms-race. it's why it's so funny that normies with no real investment in tattoos are doing it. once a single tattoo was a rebellious gesture; now a sleeve is like a default must-have for a certain sort of 'lad'. well, pretty soon you want to out-do and impress your friends, so the sleeve becomes a chest centrepiece. then the other sleeve... etc. in all fashions there is the desire to outdo someone else and make your own impression. you end up with absurdities like £800 balenciaga trainers.
