do you think people will care that it's hand-written? we don't even send out thank you cards for attending weddings.
You normally don't send a thank you card after attending. These thank you's are for gifts received.
You normally send out gift thank you cards within a month.
Within one year of the weddings is considered acceptable. My wife procrastinated

what are prices over there? $8 is the price for shots and mixed drinks locally. $3 domestic. $4 imported. Usually.

a beer in a london nightspot will cost you about $7-10 a pint. people don't often drink in smaller quantities than pint glasses. this is because we are not pussies. cocktails and mixers are going to cost you $10-15 minimum. overall our alcohol prices are higher per unit, plus we drink a lot more. a night-out in a UK town/city (not mentioning london because it's ridiculously expensive) will cost £40-50 minimum. that price will probably factor in transport/taxis, because our towns/cities are actually designed properly, so you can get around at night without relying on a designated driver. so nearer $100 than $30.

but then again we're not all alpha males.

We drink pints over here too. Those were pint prices. Maybe in NYC it is higher but in NJ those are average. We probably have less taxes on liquor

Jesus. I don't know if it's just a holdover from being poor, but the way people buy alcohol puzzles and also intrigues me.

You should see how much money people drop on pot when they can afford it.

try a $300 nightly budget for cocaine. alcohol is very inexpensive, but has a very poor investment/gain, imo. with alcohol you have to spend and drink loads before you get properly buzzed. plus there is a very fragile zone before you drink too much and get sick. people who spend $100+ on drinking loads of designer vodka are the ones that confuse me. if you really want to get that fucked up, pop a $10 pill and have a great night.

Is the phrase 'grab the brass ring' really obscure? I just had to explain the meaning to 3 people.

Beer is the drink of choice for a lot of people, but it's a pretty poor way of getting intoxicated (especially for an American on the usual brands that are like making love in a canoe), and you drink an awful lot of water to get to that point, too. Not to mention the markup at a bar, it's a rather inefficent means to that end. I don't get drunk when I go out, though, so I spend maybe $15 max just to be doing something.

That's why I buy my alcohol in bulk from chemical supply companies, with barely any blindness as a result hwfof vbs ocjof jkfalcojojf

I've probably told this story before, but one night I was working my usual night shift and the entire Baghdad sky lit up with tracers. I mean thousands upon thousands of weapons were all being fired into the air at the same time. It would've been pretty if it wasn't terrifying. So I go inside to the intelligence guys and ask them what's going on and apparently Iraq had beaten Greece in a World Cup qualifier and this was their way of celebrating. I walked back to my truck, put all my gear on, and listened to the spent rounds ping off my truck for the next hour

Surprised no one died.

I'm suprised North Dakota isn't more prominent on that map.  Experienced hailstorms, tornadoes, blizzards and extreme winds and incredibly cold temps there.
