I was in the same boat as you PspRpg, but then I bought a Gainward Bliss 7800GS+ 512Mb and no I can run all on high at about 50 fps. You really don't know what you're missing.

Are you on AGP (like I'm stuck with for now) or does your mobo support PCI-E?

Well, to be honest, I have a radeon 9600 Pro 256mb (I believe that's the one, I'll check later when I go back to that house) sitting around, and I'm all PCI-E now, so I have no use for it. Not much of an improvement, but I used to play BF2 on it...If you want it, I could give it to ya for cheap.

first thing, Windows uses all avaliable memory that you aren't using and sucks at freeing it up for other applications, so by ending all your other processes, you're actually most likely slowing your rig down a tad.
Also, i think i'm right in saying that FRAPs uses a lot of cpu/memory when it's running so i wouldn't run that in the background while you play IMO.

Remember PspRpg-7, BF2142 is at this stage, unoptimised, so expect a crappy fame-rate. It will be better when it is finally released.

I hope so too...But I would like to see what BF2 looks like on medium graphics with smooth gameplay. Curse you bastards making your sniper videos with everything on high and CURSE YOU DICE for making your 2142 trailer on most likely all high settings. And smoooth...

It might be a bit holier-than-thou of me to mention it, but if your schools have a "Running Start" system in Texas, you could get sponsored for a course at a tech college in preparation for a job. I did that here in Washington, with electronics, computers and networking. Figured I might as well milk the state while my parents were paying taxes.

Dude...   I have a ATI 9200 and can run BF2 with Med Geom. and Med Textures (100% view also) and i get around 30-40 FPS
