I once had to write a paper in the 7th Grade for a holiday/break day during the month of January or May. I decided to make my day "White Pride Day". I gave logical reasoning as to why (there's puerto rican pride day / black pride month / etc)
Needless to say I recieved an A.... The joy of going to a white school in a white neighborhood (the joy of not worrying about drive-bys and robberies... the joy of not worrying about a sub-par education... the joy of being able to freely state my opinions without being called racist.)
In my Creative Writing Graduate Seminar class in college I wrote about "white pride day"
Since my college has many non-whites... including the professor (who was black yet looked totally white to me) I recieved very very very rude looks... and a D... which I had to refute with the dean in order to get it changed to an A... the nerve of some people..

I'll chalk up the "black pride" and all that to the fact that most of History is about White people anyway. So it would be pointless having a dedicated month etc.. whilst it's stupid, I can see where it's coming from. What I don't understand is why there's "Black History Month" yet there's no "Middle Eastern History Month" or "Indian History Month" or "Chinese History month" or you get me. They've all done massive contributions to stuff.

If we force people to breed together for the next 3 or so generations than we can all be happy with one race!

Until we stop categorizing people into multiple races instead of 'the human race'... there will be racism. The very existence of those boxes on forms, exams, etc where you put down your race is further dividing us. It's hard to describe it, but I just feel like saying "this is what hispanics got" and "this is what pacific islanders got" instead of just "this is what high school juniors got" is a recognition of division.
That said, I do find it a bit sad that you can have a black student union, but the moment you make a white student union you're a supremacist. Why can't we just have a students union? We'll never be truly unified if we break ourselves up into different groups.

If a white person says something offensive about a black person, it is racism, but if a black person sayd something equally offensive the the white person, it is okay?
