I'm probably gonna get Quake Wars before I get 2142 for several reasons:
1) BF2 is the predecessor, that'll mean similar bugs and exploits to be noted for as well as unmeditated balance issues.
2) Again the predecessor, that'll also mean BF2 idiocy will carry over, everyone will TK for the battlewalker or VTOL aircrafts and a new kind of 'whore' will be created
3) I'll be disappointed even considering the 'new type of gameplay' 2142 has will stress teamplay... I doubt it... everyone'll go for the damn cloaking device and the battlefield'll be empty ninja lots.
4) BF2 hasn't been fixed, itself, yet.

I'm defenitely going to stick to the good old bf2 and for many reasons

Not unless someone buys the game for me, how they handled the patches in bf2 left a bad taste in my mouth, I wish nothing further from EA/Dice other than to fix the current game & then leave it the fuck alone.
I stoped buying SOE products because of how they handled a 3 year old community , EA/Dice will be no different for me unless they prove me wrong with the last patch.

Depends on how I like the beta/demo. Not going to make up my mind before I have more to go on than that. Would you buy a car before you took it for a test drive?
