I'm sure that's what Logitech market it as. If they thought calling it a penis enhancing mouse would sell more I'm sure they would.

Great minds n all that!On the G5 and G7 through the drivers you can adjust the DPI, and have up to a total of 5 settings.TheEternalPessimist wrote:
and i dont think u can reassign them to anything else either
Without the software installed, it defaults to the standard 3 DPI's (cant remember off the top of my head what they are)
3 lvls is ok i guess... copperhead retains its 5 without software.
stores 5 user profiles in the mouse so u can unplug and take it to a mates house and use it on his pc and keep all your settings without any drivers too.

Chaos Green Copperhead for me ^_^
i have a larger hand so it fits nicely, onthefly sensitivity means i can snipe effectively then jump straight into a chopper.
Macros, onboard profiles (so i can take my baby to school... ugh school), looks uberly awesome, generally yummy.
I've used Reizor's diamondback, and while being an awesome mouse in itself, the copperhead just fits me better. As for the Logitech offerings, i have several clanmates who swear by the g5, and one friend with a g7. Jury is still out on those though.

I believe you can assign them to other functions, would be kinda pointless but I think you can.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

At work, so not able to check right now
Time for me to chime in.
I have an MX518, have held a G7 and Copperhead, neither of which I liked as much. The copperhead was too small for me, I prefer how the MX518 fits in the hand, kind of limply hanging over it. The G7 has the same feel, but doesn't have as many buttons as the MX518. The MX518 as stated has 5 settings, customizable anywhere from 400-1600 dpi, where as the G5/7 go to 2000, but the high possible sensitivity the resolution doesn't make a big difference. I love the two side buttons and the knuckle button on the MX518, and as for the resolution buttons the raise button is easy to get to, and I don't know why you'd want to lower your sensetivity in a firefight so I love the placement of buttons.
I would not reccomend wireless anything, wireless just isn't for gaming, but if you are going to get wireless I'd say MX1000 or G7 would be the way to go.

Edit:
You can change any button to any function, I changed the knuckle button which is normally the same as alt+tab to close application, makes getting through apps very quickly easy.aujt74 wrote:

I have only used the g5 out of that selection but I wouldn't touch a cordless mouse for love nor money these days. I used to have one before (can't remember what its designation was) but it ate batteries and never gave any warning of when the batteries were going to run out. It was always the least opportune time, like running into battle and then not being able to turn or fire.
Cordless keyboards are a no-no too.

see i have wanted a G7 for so long and now this is just discouraging....i love wired...for the fact i dont ahve to deal with wires gettin in the way....

Well why did you want the G7, just for the wireless? It probably won't be bad but the fact is no matter what you will get better response on a wired mouse than wireless. (As far as I know the G7 has a good battery setup though)siciliano732 wrote:

In the G7s defence, its probabaly deals with the battery problem in the best way possible, comes with 2 batteries (look like mobile phone batteries) just slide inside and clip into place with a quick release button, one in mouse other in a charger with the signal reciever on it too. battery gets low pop one out the other in and dump the other one in the charger when u have a spare min... takes like 5 secs.aardfrith wrote:

Ok, last time. Wireless mice are NOT bad for gaming. I have a wireless mouse meant for media, not gaming, and I have no lag in movement. My batteries last about 5 months, but even if they didn't, how long does it take to swap AA's? Keep a spare pair on your desk and swap them out while you're waiting to respawn. Besides, most decent mice have battery indicators on them. As long as you put some money into it (mine was $40) and not use a Walmart $9 special, you're fine for gaming.
If you don't like cordless, then you don't like cordless. Don't claim they're not meant for gaming, because that's entirely untrue.

thank you....i am goin to go the G7 routeSin-nisterMinister wrote:

?
What is this primitive device? It appears to be an imput device, but surely not with only two buttons!
Me Hunt With Stick!!!
I'd say the 518 cuz its damn near the same as a 510.
Lol!Flaming_Maniac wrote:

I used to have something like that until today really. I had a cheap optical mouse, i do not even wanna mention the brand but it had more then 2 buttons.
Anyways i got meself a logitech g5 today. Cool to see it did well in your poll.
I m not sure what to do with the box of small weights that comes with it tho but i ll just try it out to see while playing. Is there anyone that has tips on how to use the weighs that come with it?
Honestly it comes down to what's the most comfortable and accurate for YOU.

Yea u load them in the tray and insert it in the back. I personaly use none of the weights. To much drag.General-Echo wrote:

Got the diamondback. The only downside to it is that sometimes it wont work when I start my machine. I have to re-plug it in to the USB slot. I think my drivers are bad.
If space is tight I would go with the G7 it is a good mouse and it works well if you have only a limited space to work with. I have the G5 and it is almost the same as the G7. I just switched to the G5 from a wireless mouse and the power supply problem with batteries going dead is realy nothing to worrie about. It takes 4.5 seconds to swap out a new set. I liked the wireless set up better for the fact that there is nothing connecting you to anything, but it is all personal prefrence they all preform the same just about, go to a store that has them out to to touch and find on that fits your hand, when it all comes down to it a mouse is a mouse, it is not going to make you a god or any better then you are now, it is all practice.
Did you say the only downside is it doesnt work all the time ?...lol
Try a differnt USB make sure it's not the port itself. Should be plug n' play Obviously it needs to be exchanged if that doesn't work.

I have Creative Fatal1ty, and I think it has pretty good value for money. Price is one third of G7...
