First I would like to say that I do not want people like Bubbalo to come in this topic because all they do is bash America no matter what. Ok, now. Am I the only one who thinks that the world is in debt to America a monetary figures and in figures that there country still exists. In WWII we gave supplies to Britian and Russia for free(and thats not all). Then we spent money rebuilding countries that had declared war on us(a for any nonbeligerant nation, except Rome): Italy, Germany, and Japan. All I can say is now that we have forgotten how much the rest of the world owes us the least you(the world) could do is treat us with the same respect that we treat you and dont treat us like peices of shit. Thank you, flame on.

One, that was 50 years ago, and "what have you done for me lately" comes to mind. With respect to all that we HAVE done lately, it's largely the subject of debate as to whether or not we should have done it in the first place
Two, whatever we do or do not do should not be a function of how we think we will be thanked and appreciated. What we do should be done because we feel it is necessary or imperitive.
I agree we have a piss poor world image, but that it largely perpetuated by ourselves. That being said, I love my nation dearly and hate to see it trashed. I simply hate it more when we bring it on ourselves.

we are hated for our actions. for example, since we back Israel, many Arabian countries despise us, because they also hate Israel. As for our current actions, i think we deserve no respect at all. We consume 5 times what we export, we whore oil, and we fuck up the environment. if we took a little more time to think things through, mabye less people would hate us.

that's irrelevent, do you agree with what Puck said? Do you think America haters have a reason or are they just haters? Up here there's no problem with looking closely at those in power, it's kind of expected, otherwise we wouldn't be doing our jobs as voters and the whole patriot argument that says voting is something we fought for etc.

I re-iterate, I love my country. I feel we do more positive and negative. The negative we do cause is often with good intent at heart, but I won't pretend always with good intent. I truly beleive that what is often viewed as us "imposing our will" is more often than not simply our leadership not having a high enough degree of self monitoring to see how their actions are perceived by those not sharing our definition of morality or social structure.

Try reading a book entitled "Why do people hate America" by Marryl Wyn Davies & Ziauddin Sardar. You might see some of my points of view.

two, we have repaid that two fold at least by defending their sovereignty
thought of a third thing as well - they go out of their way to be general assholes to not only America as a nation but Americans as individuals.
Oh, fourthly - they have a chain of restaurants named "Indiana Tex Mex". I wouldn't believe it either had I not seen it.

What does it really matter what the rest of the world thinks? Sure it would be nice if they all loved us, but they don't.

every country should think they're the best. That's why you live there. If you think another country is better, go there. Same goes for general beliefs, you believe it because you think you're right, if you didn't think you were right, you wouldn't beleive it.
As for the president, he doesn't do as much as he is given credit for as far as the direction of our nation. As a function of the checks/balances in place, he can't do as much as he's given credit for. Congress less functional than our president.
