Just like the title says.

I have approx. $300-350 to spend on a new processor or more ram.

Which one should I get?

I DO live in Canada (don't let my name fool you ) so don't link to newegg.com please.

I looked on tigerdirect.ca but didn't know what to buy or what would be best.

Suggestions?

P.S: It's dual channeled. So if I buy 2 gigs, I'm buying 2x1 gig sticks.

If you are talking about BF2 performance, and you have 1GB or less RAM, by all means upgrade the RAM.

However if you are a gamer, like me - upgrade to dual core. more and more games are taking advantage of dual core and physx now!

The only one I know of will be Crysis, but that isn't even out yet.

I'm thinking about getting 2 gigs as well.  I just need to know the +s of doing that to see if it's worth 90$.  For good compatability I want to get the exact same one I got for my 1st GB, the shitty thing is that they raised the price 10$ since I bought my 1st stick so I have to pay 90$ instead of normal affordable 80$.

I know when I went from 1GB to 1.5GB that I noticed a difference in BF2.  I can't honestly say how much more I would see with 2GB.

2GB is all my mobo can take so I want this thing maxed out so it's as good as it goes.

tell me the system specs first then

more memory will definitely help you, you should had put up ur computer specs for comparison,(video/cpu/mobo)
with current patch, BF2 takes around 800 kb+ of memory, when you add OS/windows and other processes that run, you will get lag.
when you buy memory, make sure you get a brand name with good timings and low latency, don't waste $ on generic or you want see any improvements

before buying, make sure its compatible with your motherboard (DDR or DDR2...)

BF2 does, i have X2 4400+ and when i have BF2 running, the process is spread on both cores, its like that since patch 1.2 if I'm not mistaken

Its hard to suggest a processor upgrade if we don't know what processor you have.   But odds are is that it is ok and its the ram that will make the difference.  go to www.ncix.com and get some ocz, mushkin, corsair or some other reputable name brand pc4000 or higher (for overclocking) at the tightest timings you can afford.

I have the OCZ Gold EL PC4000 2GB kit and I haven't had any problems with it.

It would also help to know what motherboard you have so we can know what and how much RAM you can take and what processor pin arrangements you can take.

Not true.  In fact, many people have to manually change the afinity to single core or they get errors with BF2.

With 2Gigs of ddr2 650 and a 3.0 dual core, I'm nearly always the first to load a map. I'd say that has more to do with RAM, but a nice cpu will kick some ass too...

not not true. the issue was with the OS not cpu or BF2. even though Windows XPpro is supposed to have instructions for multicore affinities, it doesnt always work. its another MS story
Microsoft put out a patch that you have to download in order to avoid this issue, you can also get it from AMD site. i had this problem and after installing it got fixed

BF2 is mostly RAM oriented as said before, I never get really any visual slow down with my AGP x1600PRO, 1gbRAM, 2.8GHZ celeron >.< (NORTHWOOD OMFG EW)             I just get st-st-sttuddering when theres like 500 things happening on screen, the planes warp around, aiming is harder, and some commands dont register because it studders >.<

with that amount of money, you can get decent ram + a new proccesor... (if your mobo supports socket 775 for pentium. awsome overclock dualcore for that)

How can you post a question like this without even mentioning what your current CPU is?  And how did all you people who said RAM reach to that conclusion without knowing what CPU he is running?

Talk about a shot in the dark......
