I was at school
I came home and my parents told me that 2 planes crashed into the WTC

I asked, them what is the WTC, and they explained me
What? I was like 11 or 12 at the time!

So I was like, ooh ok

I was getting ready for work when my GF called me and told me to turn on the TV.

I was driving to school for the first time in my own car, it was really fun until I heard the news... (that was my junior year in high school)

Kinda scary thinking about it but 3 of my friends fathers were heading to the WTC, but luckily they got stuck in traffic.  But my family was not severely effected on the day that this event occurred.

I had just gotten up to get ready to go run with my squad at 29 palms when I flipped the TV on at 530 am and they had live coverage and then I saw the second crash ----- I couldn't believe it - I thought I was seeing some movie clip on a coming soon movie but no it was real and it was happening ---- well the rest of the day was CHAOTIC everyone running around spreading rumors and the base going on lock down, by that afternoon me and my boys were loaded and ready to roll to where the bad guys were

Thats about my reaction, except I was stunned...

sleeping, then sayin....  wow thats fake..     then watching again... and sayin wow that wasnt bin laden, hes a failure.   How could he have exceded with military perfection, all he learned as a child was how to throw a rock...

  hmm..   still something fishy about 9/11.    and its not the "so-called terrorists"     I have a feeling it more americas "TERRORIST" government.

I was at my desk in my office when someone said a plane had hit the WTC. I just assumed it was a small plane that hit it by accident and that no major damage had been done. Then my brother texted me to say another plane had - this time the other tower. I was like WTF? What is going on here? I checked the internet and got live feed of the two towers when my mum texted me that the pentagon had just been hit (she was watching TV back home in rural Donegal). I was thinking 'HOLY SHIT! Who the fuck is doing this?' - I couldn't imagine who might be behind it - Russkies? Chinese? Is this WWIII? It didn't make any sense. The whole half day at work from about 1pm Irish time onwards was absorbed with people standing around each others desks going 'WTF?' and then watching the towers collapse on website live feed images. Rushed home and watched the incidents over and over again all evening with my mouth wide open. I don't think anyone will ever forget what they were doing and were they were on 9/11.

Staying with my Dad.
We were playing Gran Turismo III and I failed a test course and I decided to not play for 3 hours cuz i was getting angry.; I was zapping and I zapped to BBC and I saw a burniing tower.

I was at work on the west coast, when a co-worker came in and told me what happened.  I thought it was bullshit, went online, and saw the massive amounts of news reports to prove it.  I watched the second plane hit the towers realtime, along with the two towers collapsing, and it was the most surreal thing I have ever seen in my life.

On the Goerge Washington watching the first tower burning and watched the second plane go in.

I was asleep...

I was in the US Navy stationed onboard the USS Enterprise as an Operations Specialist. We were nearing the end of our cruise, heading to our last liberty port in South Africa. We got around the horn of Africa when that event happened. I was asleep in my rack when I was woken up to get ready to go to my watch station. The person that woke me up said something that I couldn't quite understand in my state of waking up about a plane hitting the WTC. I got out of my rack and got ready to go to watch, not thinking much of anything new. When I got up to CDC (Combat Direction Center) everyone was watching the TV. We have satellite TV access (CNN). I couldn't believe what I was watching. The second plane hadn't hit the second tower yet. I thought it was some kind of accident with the plane crashing into the tower. I relieved the watch and took my station on GCCS-M. I have an IRC chat to the other ships in our battle group. I was relaying to them the event that were taking place because they don't have satellite TV access. Later on the second plane hit. That's when everyone knew that this was no accident. Watching the towers crumble I was holding back my tears. Everyone onboard knew that we were going to war and didn't care about extending the cruise. The ship pulled a u-turn and we were the first ones on station. Fighting that war (Operation Enduring Freedom) was my proudest moment in the Navy.
