Hey brother, your PM box is full, so I have to go here with q...
did you ever get around to making some vids?
Thx, great guide I've re-read many times.

I use mouse and keyboard and I do perfectly fine, check my stats. But ya I get the bomb thing, because it works for me 80% of the time. I like the yoyo move its very useful. Thanks for the guide Sarge!

Pretty good - although I think changing views is a bit of cheating really, sure no one knos you do it, but IRL you can't just change to a fly by view Although, I happily look into rear view, as even though it isn't entirely accurate, there are some cameras in real planes that allow you to look behind your plane (a neat little invention, i'll get a pic somewhere on Google)

And every other pilot does it.
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

I never used the fly-by camera until reading this guide, but now I see how critical it is. Still, losing sight of the enemy jet is my biggest problem when I'm chasing. I'm not sure how any camera can pick up a jet that is to the side of you, or below and behind you if you are heading down. Is there something I'm missing?

You can, using mouse look, however you lose control of the jet while doing it, in other words you'll just fly straight.. not to mention if you use a joystick you'll have to quicky use the mouse to look around. Not worth it and fly by does the trick.

I fly on Gulf of Oman, and Kubra Dam. Random servers, I'm not an admin-friendly person

I got some more done this evening. I'm re-writing the whole guide though and I'm not rushing anything this time.

That split-s is killer. I was doing double immelmans thinking that was a split-s, and its good too, but combine the 2 and I was shaking alot of J-10's off my tail tonite. I managed to shoot down a few J-10's in the F35 too, and these were either 2nd LT or Colonel.

In the F35 its all about flying high and spamming the view buttons. I would catch them flying under me (usually opposite direction), then I pulled a hard split-s, and stalked them at about 50M elevation and 150M back on their tail, while flying in bomb mode. Switch to missiles, wait for flares, fire on a really solid tone, if you dont have a perfect shot, back off and fly high again. Sometimes I would only wound the J-10, then I would fly high again, wait for a perfect time to reload and do it again. These guys were getting sloppy on repairs, they were greedy over carrier kills (so I usually knew where they were going -- straight to airfield, or straight to carrier).

Anyways, hopefully this helps some people, its not impossible to down a really good J-10 pilot even in the shittiest plane. You just need to time your strikes perfect, which I learned from this thread.

Hold (left, I dunno if right works) ctrl, and move your mouse. This makes your head move in the cockpit. Not really usefull, but it can be done.

Is it just me, or does the split-S seem really slow.  I'm like you, immelman seems to be the way to go...gaining altitude, not losing it...and the pull UP seems so much more effective/faster than the push DOWN.  I've never practiced with anyone else, just on my own.  So, is it just an illusion that this is a slower manouever?  And how much altitude do I have to have/will I lose doing this one.  Thanks.

Also, thanks to turkeybacon for making me hungry.

I like doing the double immelmans to get high, then sometimes I see a jet fly under me and I pull a split-s and gain ridiculous amounts of speed. You know you have to be inverted right? You're not pushing down, you're pulling up, but you're inverted.

What type of joystick did I have to used? I try one with 6 buttons but the game didn't recognize it (windows recognized it).

Writing the last 2 chapters. sorry to keep everyone waiting but I have no intentions of pulling a DICE and cutting stuff out to get it done faster.
