Do you think 1.4 will be the very last of all the patches in Bf2??

**Since Bf2142 is coming out, it may take away from the Bf2 attention..

I reckon they will keep having to release fix patches, as everytime they launch one, it screws something else up. I wouldn't be suprised if they sorted cartillery and tags bugs in 1.4, but accidentally lost all weapons...

Maybe they should concentrate on testing a game before they release it, making a working program on a stable platform!

Hopefully 2142 will be on an engine similar to HL2, which runs at a far greater framerate than BF2 could ever possibly dream of!

i went lucky dip on this one & chose YES.

but the way i see bf2 patches though is like this.their like the last episode of a tv series,theres always something missing that leaves you pissed off having to wait ages for the next one to come out lol.
in a way i'm hoping 1.4 will be the last patch & they get the shit right this time.

other than maybe a few map only patches.
wishfull thinking maybe? lol,it'd be more like heres a map patch, p.s it also includes 40 new bugs & weve took all your guns away

Ill hate them if they stop....there are also people not looking forward to the new battlefield (like me).
Wich means im gunna be stuck with some half baked game wich crashes more frequently then Windows ME.

I dont like that whole new concept, if i want a futuristic battlefield i might aswell go play QuakeWars.
I like battlefield 2 for the whole uniqueness of its kind. They should work that out more.

same,i aint interested in 2142,the next futuristic game i plan to buys ut2007 so bf2's the only 1 in the series i'm sticking to unless they do a bf3 & stick to modern warfare.

But in regards to 2142 well yeah if you wanted to strip 2142 downs to CS : S level then sure put it on the Havoc engine.
IMO BF2's engine is great it does what its meant to and EVERY engine has its problems.
Changing to another engine would cause other problems.
Changing to Havoc would mean if anyone used vechiles they would lag.
Havoc doesnt handle mobiles well.

Maybe you need review your hardware specifications if your not getting the desired frames your wanting?

Like the past, from BF1942 and BFV experience, I believe there will continue to be patches for BF2 until BF2142 is officially released. At that time, then the amount of patches released for BF2 will begin to cease. Of course that all depends on how close EA deceides to finally release patch 1.4 before 2142 comes out..

I would say yes, that it will be the last patch. Only for the reason that when 2142 comes out they will not continue to support BF2 any longer for the simple fact it almost forces you to up gun to there latest and greatest at $60.00 a pop. I have 3 computers with networking so from me alone thats a easy $180.00 just in software...

BF2 will go for a short while after the release of 2142 but not long IMO!

It is probably not the last patch, per se, but it is probably the last significant patch there will be before a new incarnation of BF.

I will judge the continuity of BF2 based on the quality of the patch (all indicates that it is more feature based than fix based, so I have very low hopes of seeing critical issues fixed).

Since EA has an open beta for 1.4, it seems like it would be the perfect patch, but looking at other patches... you know...

Chances are there will be a MAJOR bug or unbalance that will require another patch to fix the patch.
