For me it would be a toss up between "The Wall" and "A Clockwork Orange".  I know there are more, so let's see them.

The Wall for me I guess. I was blown away by the animation.
Regarding A Clockwork Orange, I preferred the book.

I love the Wall

Clockwork Orange is very good too and of course Fear and Loathing. But I have a major hard on for Pink Floyd and The Wall is my favorite album so..

Reading a book before seeing the movie always beats the cinema, books have more depth and are more catching

Psychadelic movie?

Definitely 200 Motels by Frank Zappa.  Craziest movie I've ever seen.

Hard to argue with "the wall" ftw.

But I'd throw in "Being John Malcovich" and "Fight Club" as good alternatives.  They might not be 'psychodelic' in the true sense... but certainly a head trip.

If you can stand some violence, "Izo" and "Gozu" are awesome. Most movies by Takashi Miike are really good.
