Well I'm tired of the mouse spazzs, jerky sniper scope, horribly unsteady and 2 buttoned mouse that you may find at your local Wal-Mart. I want something new. A new mouse with multiple buttons, different functions, and anything that will make my gameplay better/more enjoyable.

If you've got a mouse or have tried out this mouse please tell, gaming mouses only thanks. I'm looking to spend up to $60.

Thanks,

The Razer Copperhead (or even the diamondback). Its just like the Logitech G5 or G7..in fact i reckon its better..but thats just personal opinion. It features:

* 2000dpi with on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments.
* Gold Plated USB connection (apparently it helps with the conductivity making it faster).
* 32kb of onboard memory for storing profiles.
* The profiles can easily be configured for games, and when your playing a particular game just push the button underneath and your profile is loaded.
* It also has 6 configurable buttons (2 of which are the left and right mouse button..but they are configurable also).
* It is coreded..but who cares? Wireless is just a hassle for batteries and bloody signals.
* And it also glows in 3 colours; Red, Blue, and Green. (This is done by an internal LED)
* It also has lil grip on the side for better handling.

All in all this a really great mouse and has never let me down. It was so cool to adjust sensitity for handling a sniper..or making it faster for quicker turns and stuff. Word of caution though, if you can manage to trial test it or something..do it cuz some people find the mouse is too big or wierd in their hand. Other then that everything should be cool.

The Diamondback (Another model similar to the copperhead ) is a bit different, mainly the handling is different and the design. But both are great mouses and again, IMHO out perform the G5 and G7 from Logitech. Good Luck on choosing a mouse.

3rd'ed.  This mouse is great bang for the buck.

Any mouse with on-the-fly dpi changing will be a nice addition.  Just give it a little time, and remember you'll have to adjust the sensitivity settings in-game to get everything tuned.

I don't know your location but if your in the U.S. you can go to Bestbuy and see what mouse has the features you want and which fits your hand the best. They had about 10 last time I was inside....They have a 30 day return policy as well. I had the Copperhead but took it back because i didn't like the way it felt. It has a hard edge all the way around that I hated.. I would avoid ebay because you don't want to get stuck w/ a broken mouse. The MX518 does feel nice in your hand I  must say...

As a matter of general principle I would disqualify any cordless mice...

G5 is supposed to be excellent, heard little but positive things about it. Hopefully they're all right too 'cause mine will be here in about four weeks

Buy online if you want to save $$, the G5 is a good price from Amazon and free shipping is available for it if you're in the US.

well in css we teat mice of all kinds and size/price
what we worked out is it depends greatly on what/how you hold your mouse

do you hold your mouse in the cup of your hand or palm of your hand, if so then a logitech is the way to go and any of the MX range will be good for the job

do you hold your mouse with your finger tips, if so then a razer is the way to go as the logitch mice are terribly set up for finger tip players diamond back or i would personly stand by the copper head (comes in 3 different shades ;p

that was the general out come of our tests

personal tests iv done witch some agree with some disagree with is the copper head is the pwnage Vs any of the logitech nice its lighter faster smoother feels better only fault i can think of is the side buttons can be a little fiddly

i got the G5 and used it for 2 nights it felt cheep, plastic and hollow tryed all the addable waits  was like trying to play with a large rock tbh i was so disgusted with it i gave it to a clan m8 (and id payed £60 for it at the time ) but he loves it im a finger tip mouse user ,he use,s the hole of his hand when playing

Logitech G5.

The only reason I don't nominate the G7 is because I don't use wireless peripherals for gaming. The last thing you need after an all-night frag session is to have your mouse die while you're piloting a chopper, or lining up a headshot.

I also can't recommend any other mouse because...well I haven't used anything else. =P

I use a G5 and love it to death.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6826104191
I can truly say that it has improved my accuracy alot.  The mouse is sweet, but it took me a couple of days to get my dpi and ingame sensitivity set correctly.  Oh yea, after you install the drivers, the mouse has 5 different dpi modes on the fly, not just 3.

This doesn't look to have any specified dpi rating so it'll be fixed at one setting (possibly at 800 which appears to be typical if they don't say). It could be pretty good but it looks a bit fat which some people really can't stand feel-wise. I'm also curious where the fourth and fifth buttons are... the thumb one looks to be placed fine but is it a two-way? And is the mouse wheel the fifth?

800 dpi is adequate for gaming; I'm using a standard Microsoft optical mouse currently and it's good enough to snipe with (see sig) but for faster shots and really precise aiming, like between railings at 200m + for example, a better quality of mouse would definitely help.
