I have one....it's good, looks nice, performs great and is reliable.

You could get alot more for your money if you built your own. -if i'm honest, i would have done that.

A) no, am i right in saying that alienware are now built by Dell?
B) building your own is better, cheaper, and increases your understanding of pc's

build your own.. cheaper and you'll feel like Jesus himself when the damn thing works right on the first try... just don't add too much thermal paste you'll bend those tiny little pins on the CPU and its a pain in the ass to bend them back

If I had the money I'd buy from Alienware. Their shit is DOPE. Just depends on how much money you want to spend I guess.

If you have that much cash buy an alienware, just for peace of mind. I build my own PCs but you never feel like the thing is solid and sturdy if you know what i mean. If you wanna build your own, just look at the specs and components listed in the alienware rig and buy them seperatly, just get a nice big case with lots of fans to keep the whole damn thing cool, thats the number one rule. Im gonna get a ready made next time around coz while building your own is fun, its best to do it with lower spec components incase you fry them by mistake. With the amount of money you have it would be a costly error to fry your $500 graphics card just coz you did something wrong, and as you have never built one before, i would take the easy option and buy ready made. There are also plenty of companies apart from alienware who build PCs to spec at a cheaper price, but i have heard the alienwares customer support is top notch.

Isn't alienware just all the normal part from the manufacturer except for a high quality case and some really good cooling parts.

If I had the money to spend on... I would not get Alienware but instead get a system from Falcon NW.  There's just something slick about their paint jobs that makes a system more of a unique relic than your typical cathode and LED lit system.

So your basically just spending the extra money on what?
I'd rather build my own the spend the money that would have been spent on the alienware computer on something cool. Like a paintball gun or something like that

And don't forget the DFI Infinity board. That's what I'll be getting when it comes out.
EDIT: Oh wait, you mean out now as in by them? Not many atm, but it doesn't really matter, as you have no Conroe to stick in it anyway.
