The topic of the poll is pretty self-explainatory. Would you, the more hardcore of the BF2 community, pay to purchase reasonably priced, high quality replicas of the medals and whatnot you earn in-game. I don't know that the medals and badges themselves would be all that cheap (if you have to custom strike them I'd bet they'd be around $15 each), but the ribbons themselves would be cheap, I'd guess around $2-$3 each. Not to mention, you could make ribbons based on the medals like the army does.

I dunno, I'm a pretty big nerd, but it would be at least somewhat entertaining to walk into a LAN wearing a marine uniform with the right badges, rank, and whatnot. Tell me what you think.

Where did I buy them? I didn't, I was posing what the kids like to call a "hypothetical question." And I'm not even saying that I would buy them. I might. I was stupid enough to pay $10 for Euroforces. I was just wondering if there was anyone here that might. The intarwebs is full of enough people that something like this would probably be a profitable small venture, considering the cost of materials, shipping, etc.

SO, back to point. What do you all think? Is something like this worthwhile? If there were to be a grand BF2 convention, something on the scale of a quakecon, I'm sure these things would sell like hotcakes. Or hot lesbians, of the internets variety.

And the negative karma thing was a joke. You can leave positive karma too if you want.

Medals must be earned not bought on the internet. This would be a major insult to veterans throughout the world (me included).

If you guys want medals and ribbons, join the military and learn what it means to wear them......................or go listen to some WW 2 vets................and buy them a beer ;-)

Man if i bought medals and wore them around the place i'd have to kick my own ass, and thats just really hard.

Besides there are vets dying from old wars all the time (no really its true and there not the Dr.Dolittle ones),,,just mug some old geezers or if your too afraid grave robbing is always an option. And if some smart ass kid says your way too young to have a Battle of the Somme infantary medal,,,just call him a N00b,,,that'ill learn him good

I'm a paramedic... I get swings taken at me all the time. So yes, I can think of a few other ways to have someone take a swing at me. That being said, I'm not so much afraid of being "beaten up." I'm kind of a big guy. Most people know better than to take a swing at me. It never ends well for them.

The idea that this is offensive to vets is something I asked a roommate about. He's a marine vet and a player, and didn't care one way or the other.

The question here is not whether or not you would be the coolest kid in your middle school if you wore them one day. The question is, would an item like this sell?

I wouldn't do anything THAT sad but I have been partly sad in that I purchased an American Purple Heart medal, a Nazi WWII Iron Cross Second Class, and a few soviet medals. Why? Because they look cool (though Iron Cross was expensive!).
