All the conroe enthusiasts, have a read of this, very impressing on Intel's behalf.

cyborg you seem knowledgable about overclocking etc..
can you tell me what i should do with this?: (below)

ASUS A8N-SLI- PREMIUM nForce 4 SLI Socket 939 Motherboard
AMD Athlon™ 64 3700+ Processor Retail (939)

1024 GeIL PC3200 400MHz DDR Dual Channel Series (4X512MB) (2gb)

Leadtek WinFast PX6800 GS TDH 256MB PCI-E x16

Seagate SATAII NCQ 300GB 7200RPM 16mb Cache (Windows & Program Files HDD)
Western Digital 120G SATAII 7200 rpm HDD (work/important shit)
Seagate Serial ATA NCQ 200GB 7200RPM 8mb Cache (storage for downloads etc.)

and two 21" HP CRT monitors, with 19.5" displays.

Umm, what should i do, overclock it?? Any tips for it?? Anyone ??
Should i crap the displays and get 19" lcd? or scrap the video card? or what??

Oh and i have a Sound Blaster Audigy Value 7.1 sound card, i just ordered a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music, good choice ?? Want to use X-Fi EAX for bf2, and have good quality, and is GeIL good? or Corsair better? I don't want to spend a thousand dollars on upgrades, just some pointers or critisim please!

As of yesterday, I had a Pentium 4 HT @ 3 ghz...

I don't know what it'll be replaced with though.

Any recommendations?

Ahhh... the wonders of Phase and Watercooling...
Mind posting a pick to prove it??
he has phase... wtf do u expect
Exactly...
phase cooled CPU runs chip @ -30C on idle.
watercooled Northbridge keeps it nice and frosty.

yes, ppl got a p4 to run at -200 degrees C, -30 is nothing compared to dry ice or liquid nitrogen cooling

I saw a video where they overclocked an Intel Pentium 4 to over 5 Ghz. They took a copper tube, add thermal grease to the bottom and put some insulation around the copper tube. Then took a canister and filled it with liquid nitrogen and poured in the copper tube and it was history afterwards.

there is no such thing as "fast enough" besides the point that I will back up cyborg for... that is made, read: made for overclocking.

yeah fx chips are a waste of money - they dont overclock at all (or a coulple of MH with water) and cost a fortune. Hey if i up my opty by 0.15 V i can hit 2.8Ghz easyly (though i need a divider then ), which is the speed of an fx-62 (and that at less than half the price)
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
