Yes, it still counts those shots. Shots Fired/Shots hit.

So you can basically tell if someone is padding their accuracy by checking how many shots fired VERSUS how many shots hit VERSUS how many kills.

(ie. If they had 2 kills, and 1000 shots, and 900 hits, that spells paddage).

I, for instance, am perfect in my accuracy.

How about,, when sometimes I take a few shots at a helecopter and the little cross hair pops up to show I hit it. Does that counts as a hit in the stats?

Thats why some people have a insae accuracy they unload on any vehicle they see try it every tank you see just put a whole clip it wil rase your accuracy...____ LOok at my nade launcher accuracy its shit because when i get board walking around on maps i just shoot and see it bounce off stuff

Hits divide by Shots and times 100 is your accuracy.

In your case it would be 4,421/10,404 = 0.4249327 * 100 = 42.49327~%

Small arms fire on a tank, apc, or AA vehicle should count as a "miss" since it does no damage.   Firing almost any weapon at lightly armored vehicles should count as a hit.   I'm not so sure I'd call that stat padding though, since there are plenty of legitimate reasons to shoot at targets you can hurt.

Support guns tear those vehicles up.  Snipers can take out chopper pilots.  General damage to either kind of aircraft is annoying to the pilot, and getting free kills from dummies who crash after getting shot at with small arms is always good.

I'm sure there ARE people who've got silly accuracy ratings on some weapons, but I can't remember the last time anybody rolled out their BF2 Accuracy % E-Peen and anybody took notice.  "Noob your KDR is 0.4."   "Yeah?  Well my accuracy is 43%, hoo-rah!"
