Please explain how you exactly get these points?
Fly a heli and let the gunner do his job....
thks, so basically allow others to kill while you drive
when a passanger gets a kill you get a driver kill assist
I believe so yes
hmm I always thought it was being support or medic or engineer inside a vehicle & something comes by that needs ammo, medic, or an engineer.
No, unless u r the driver and a medic in ur vehicle heals some 1

yea if your in say a transport with a medic and he heals some one then its Driver Special Ablility but if he kills some one then its Driver Kill Assist
leesupport is right. read his post.
Me = Driver + You (Support, medic or engineer) = passenger
Say we are in a APC, diving around, beep beep
I shoot someone, BANG
You get = Driver kill assist
Then some teammate who is hurt is standing next to us, Medic!!!!
(Coz your in the vehicle you will heal him)
I get = Driver Special Ability point
Same if you were support and he/she was out of ammo
or
You were engineer and his/her vehicle was damaged.
Any questions?

one... How did i get a drive special ability point while i was useing the lazer bombs in the bomber
The only thing I would add is that you don't have to be "driving" to get the special ability assist.
ie: I am gunner in APC...my driver is medic/engineer/support and while we are BOTH in the vech.
together, he applies his special ability to someone outside the vech...still counts for me as special ability point.
In this case is it better if the kit of the "other person" is not the same as your kit. ie you are not both medics,
otherwise you may be doing the healing instead of him.
I recently got the basic crew service and after several failed attempts found it best to approach this way.
Beforehand:
Get up front agreement from somebody that they will work with you on your ribbon.
Be both on teamspeak and in the same squad. You are leader.
During:
Go after the special ability point first.
While you go for that, you will most likely earn some kill assists (just keeping yourselves alive)
If you are the one going for the ribbon...keep track of the assists...as you will not clearly see them in
your score during the round as many other team/kill/cap points may be coming in as well.
I found the easiest kit to have with you is an engineer: as finding messed up armor nearby is allot
quicker to get to and repair; then getting to wounded team mates...also you can go fix a blown up assets (Arty, UAV, etc) , an get the point in the relative safety of your uncap.
So now with your special ability point...go get the rest of the Kill assists.
I had an easy time of this just sitting in the BTR while the skilled driver did all the driving and killing.
The only time I killed anyone was to clear the rear of a spec ops with C4...but that is okay since
I will need to get some kills on my own.
Once you get your quota of assists, finish up the kills required by you.
I like this as the tank gunner, as between the main gun reloads i had plenty of kills to get from the top
gunner's 50cal.
I hope the method helps, I will be moving on the get the SF version this week.

you also used to get driver special abilety points(your gunner is killing someone) in SF choppers if your gunner adn the driver kills someone(i dont know if this is a bug or if it still work. long time not played SF)
No, the Kill Assist is different...that is what you describe.Niekjejeje wrote:

Look at the Crew Service ribbon, and they are listed as seperate criteria.
Basiclly ANY TEAM point earned by someone else in the "vech" you are in, and you can be anywhere
in the "vech" then you get the "Driver" special ability. << I think the only real misnomer here is the
word Driver.
(Maybe it was enforced in some early patch, but I have 1.3 and I get the point no matter what position I occupy.)
you get driver special ability point when
1. youre in vehicle
2.youre passenger/driver heals, supplies or repairs someone
1. youre in vehicle
2.youre passenger/driver heals, supplies or repairs someone
what about when you're say in a tank's 50 cal and the driver shells someone. don't you get a driver kill assist for this one too?
yea but its a driver kill assist, we are talking about driver SPECIAL ABILITY POINT, not kill assist
2: correct but not 100% ANY TEAM POINT IS EARNED it is not limited to what you name.DaJJ wrote:

They could also be earning team points by Capping a flag, or by flag defends
Sorry I must be getting anal about the clarity here.
Wiki says this:
Driver special ability = 1 point. Note: You receive these points while driving or piloting and someone that is in the vehicle with you receives combat or team points.
But since they get combat points by using the guns on the vech to kill someone, that would be a kill assist.
So I actually think the wiki is a bit wrong.
Unless they get a kill assist themselves, and that earns you the special ability.
This would have to be like this:
They hurt someone more than 50% but less then 100%.
Later someone else finished them off, you get the kill assist. Which is a combat point.
And you are in a vech with some other person (Do they get a SPECIAL ABILITY POINT??)
I think that is the only way the other guy can get a Combat point with me in the same vech and I would earn a special ability and not a kill assist.
Otherwise 1 death would be giving out basically 2 kill assists....
Are you following me? ......As Far as I'd like to
