BF2S Forums new music during load ups

whit af comes a new loading sound i post it in a sec

hey is there anyway to modify bf so it plays the music you want during loads?

To swap the MEC loading music to the US loading music
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Navigate to:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Common_client.zip

then:

Sound/Menu/music

Rename "load_MEC_music.ogg" to "load_US_music.ogg" and rename "load_US_music.ogg" to "load_MEC_music.ogg"

This will mean that when you load a map you will hear the US loading music, which you would never normally hear.

To implement your own music
--------------------------------------

1) Download this program and get this plugin
2) Open any .mp3 file (or any media file supported by 'Audacity') with Audacity.
3) Click 'File' ---> 'Export as Ogg Vorbis'
4) Name the ogg file "load_MEC_music.ogg"
5) Put the new file in (replacing the original):

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Common_client.zip

then:

Sound/Menu/music

6) That's it your done!

Some people believe that this will 'break' your game and you will have to completely re-install. For me, this is not that case. I am very sorry if anyone has the happen to them. If you are suspicious that this will affect your game then either do not do it or only do the first tip.

Or, instead of asking EA for something new, which results again in a patch, which I dont want. U just go to ''options'' and set ''music'' to 0%. Make a playlist of music, start playing that playlist, and load a game and during loading u get ur own music, and with that also ingame Ooooh what do I love to snipe whilst having Linkin Park running on the back ground

DO NOT DO THIS

do not modify your .ogg sound files, i did it and had to do a complete reinstall, if you want to get it to work you have to make sure the files you replace are the EXACT same size and name as the ones you removed

You get it from the same place as the us loading music... right next to the MEC loading music

hey I'm stupid so no input from me someone who's a little bit more technical than me would in sure point us all in the right direction

The first time i did this was in version 1.0, maybe 1.01. I used my own music, having got bored of both the MEC and US tunes. I did not have a problem with punkbuster.

I can say only this: If you are concerned about f*cking your game up (due to punkbuster) and being forced to do a complete reinstall then do not do this tip. I never had a problem but if punkbuster has been updated so that it will block you for modifying 'Objects_Client.zip' then you never know...

Extract only the necessary files. Then put them back in again once renamed

jsut copy and paste the files to your desktop and rename it there then bring it back it

the tunes they have standaed are horrible IMO.

if you change the music doesnt punkbuster kick you for modifying content? that just happened to me im going to have to change it back.  that sux to because i liked the us music better than the mec music
