After i installed 1.3 i had ZERO problems, until today. i'd get in the server, then 30 seconds later, lost connection. i got fed up with it this morning so i tried quitting the game then reload it. no help. then i restarted the comp and it worked after that.

i took a break for awhile, ate dinner, watched a movie, then came back to play. same tired ass shit, connection lost. so again i restart and the game worked.

so i dunno, it worked twice for me.

To be honest - i think all the solutions posted for fixing CTD/Connection loss etc are just working due to the randomness of these bugs. There is no solution for CTD/Connection less except waiting for a new patch from DICE.

i think they are happening less frequently, but when they do happen it's most likely to crash.

Sweet, now all you have to do is tell me how to keep people logged into my server when it eats shit and comes back up so I dont have to say CONNECT IMMEDIATELY IF YOU GET CONNECTION PROBS. It is not just you, it means the server is going to shit can itself.

I have an Athlon 64 x2 3800+ and I used to have connection issues. BF2 has problems with dual-core processors and when I disable one of the cpu's all the problems go away. I get 0 errors now.

To disable a cpu: Press Ctrl + Alt + Del. Click the "Processes" tab. Right click BF2.exe, click Set Affinity...Then uncheck CPU 1 and click OK.

That method works for me, hopefully it can help some of you out.

What about those of us who don't have dual core processors but get the same issues???

go start > run> msconfig > start up

Disable any BG programs tghat you don't need. Should fix your problem.

i would be trying to get into the same server for about 10 minutes. i know it happens to other people, but i don't think it just boils down to a server only problem.

I had my first CTD since 1.3 last night.  The funny ting about it is I was playing co-op mode by myself just to check out the new AF maps.  I guess I am one of the lucky ones in that the only problems I have had with the game is the incremental patch around 1.12 or something and since I have always used the full  and 1.3 didn't patch right b/c I had the Battleracer mod installed. (i.e. co-op didn't show)

Does anybody know if the mods and co-op work Ok if you install the mods after you install 1.3?
