I sometimes feel guilty for doing it but I cant resist. Is it wrong to arty the airfield over and over when there are 10 people fighting over the planes and choppers. They TK each other and the things sometimes never get off the ground. Is it bad to drop arty on 10 people that are all in a small cluster? I usually laugh hysterically when I get 3-4 kills per drop, over and over because those boobs just cant stop fighting over aircraft.
i dont say it is wrong, if they dying, might as well make it from the enemy.....lmao
Personally, i would say if your on about airstrip on the the boat or other uncapable's i find that pointless... many other places more effective you could be using it, but if your on about the chinese strip on wake, then hell yeah, why not
by all means keep doing it.. Pilots get way to much leeway in this game.. 10 guys at the airfield deserve to be artied. pilots are hard enough as it is to kill in the air, saying we cant kill them on the ground is giving them the game on a silver platter.
I see nothing wrong with that. Kill em where ever. It's part of the game so make them deal with it and perhaps they'll get the message.
Sometimes i will drop a vehicle in front of the plane taking off, just for kicks
Generally there are places that require arty more then the airfield/carrier, but in some cases it is warranted. Wake is a classic example. If you're Chinese and the US cant get across to a flag, its pretty much the only way to enforce ticket bleed, otherwise its going to be a long game..
AA missiles should track a Jet until it has been misguided into a wall. Then that would stop people arty-ing the bastards before they start there reign or terror lol.

true story, patton was there

arty anywhere is annoying. it should have been left like DC. one strategical strike instead of spawn raping noob cannons. then we wouldnt have the vehicle drop problem.
hey ronin, better start whoring some armor to get that pretty star!.:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

I think it is reeeeeeeaaaaallyyyyyyyyy annoying BUT, if I'm the usmc commander I do the same
artying a spawn point is bad karma. i dont do it becasue i know how annoying it is to be on the receiving end.
i WILL arty airfields that are not spawn points tho.. eg USMC airfield at Kubra Dam..

I say if the game allows it then there is nothing wrong with it.
i hate that so much, it brings new meaning to the term runway blocker... i cant tell you how many times i've been killed because of that. But do you actually get points? or is it just to piss plane whores off?devilcat wrote:

I'll arty the Essex without an ounce of guilt. I know I'm going to claim cheap victims which until they respawn can't kill me or my team (see objectives of game). I don't care for the abuse I get as I'm aiming for vehicles on the ship and have no problem telling the other team.
(as mec comm., wake island) Get in the tank, head towards arty island, blow any choopers and plastic boats away, fill the essex with arty and piss them right off. Even if the arty misses them your tank might not. I hate Wake and this often makes the game go quicker, get it over with. New Map, Hurray. Bet you both teams are happy when the next map loads.

Dunno bout the points but it means for at least another 30 sec's you cant spawn bomb one of our spawn points.CommieChipmunk wrote:

dude people whine about everything
you gotta arty the airfield, especially if people are there. gotta frustrate those enemy pilots.
just as it SHOULD BE, airpower is essential to victory. it's very important if you are commander to use the tools at your disposal to help your team win by hurting the enemy's airpower. the more you hurt the enemy's airpower, the more freedom your infantry has, and the more airpower your pilots have to restrict the enemy ground forces. it's just commanding 101 to drop arty on airfields. anybody who complains is a baby who can't think logically and probably also whines about "jet whores."
haven't done this (yet) but obviously the point would be to keep enemy pilots out of the sky since jets are an extremely powerful tool for victory and allowing enemy aircraft to operate freely as commander is totally irresponsible.CommieChipmunk wrote:

it is just too bad there's no asset you can blow you disable vehicle drops.. in my view if there was an asset that could be destroyed to disable vehicle drops then there would be no question as to whether dropping jeeps on airfields is a valid tactic.

i would have to say its ok to arty an airfield if it is a cap flag, but not if its an uncap. And if it was of advantage to your forces moving in, but not really for the shear hell, you need to support you guys first.
Finally the commander's job is to win the battle. Therefore he has to keep the boys alive which includes to get rid of potential harm. Depending on the map, the enemies and the actual situation he has to decide, where the arty is of best use this time. This may be flag, a crowd, a shelter or what ever. Me I only exclude red circles unless the server gives them free explicitly.
