Im 15. Started playing a year ago. I like being younger than most people and kicking some ass. My dad is 40-something and I hella outranked him even though he used to play more than me. The oldest player 122 years old and his mind is hooked-up in the computer. Hes hella good.

I'll hate getting older though. Apparently there is an arbitrary cut off date after which you shouldn't play video games, at least according to a few comments.
Seriously though, what is this magical point? 30,40, 50, 51? Does it count if the wife and I don't plan to have kids? I may not have 1000s of hours to throw away on a video game, but I'm still entitled to have fun damnit...no matter the age. If you don't like it, tough. Oh, and stay off my lawn! </soapbox>
Seeing some of the ages here actually explains a lot of the attitudes that can be seen in these forums....especially the political threads! I'm not knocking anyone for an opinion, but there are some very much holier-than-thou type attitudes that are even funnier now that I know they come from children.

I can kinda see what you're saying. At 20, a person barely caught the Playstation at release (1994 IIRC, I was in college then, so my memory is a bit fuzzy). At 8, you just don't look at games the way you do once you hit your teens. They missed playing the early consoles with a mature enough mindset to take something away from it. They missed the heyday of arcades (where true gamers got there start). Hell, I almost missed it at 31 years. Thankfully, I lived down the street from an arcade ran by friends of the family (free gaming!), so I got an early start.Sea_JayUK wrote:

About missing the PS thing... I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because Sony really killed off the entire 2D gaming style. 3D isn't better just because 3>2. That's a rant for another day though.
