Ok guys i need some help.
Whenever i try to go onto a website that requires a secure connection i.e. it has to send secure packets to and from my pc and the website, an error message pops up saying "You cannot acces this because SSL is disabled"
i go into tools and see if it really is disabled but the checkmarks are next to SSL 2.0 and 3.0, signifying that they are active.

i just don't get it
help please...anybody?

type "about:config" into the address bar.
look for security.xxxxx near the bottom of the list.
one of the entries will be for enablessl2 and enablessl3
set them both to true if they arent by right clickin the item and choosing toggle since its boolean it can only be true or false

as a matter of fact u can set all the security.sslXXXXX settings to true
be sure u leave
security.ssl3.rsa_null_md5 and security.ssl3.rsa_null_sha false(will cause a big security risk)

Think algebra the xxxx represent the entire listing of ssl

basically the
security.enable_ssl2
security.enable_ssl3
need to be true

then anything with
security.sslx.xxxxx should be true except for the ones mentioned in the edit above

Edit: what site is this failing on btw?

haha yea algebra...i figured it might come in handy
well it's not working on gmail.com, moodle (school thing), my mother cannot access her work website, or any other websites that need secure connections
they are all tru cept for sha and the other one

o yea here is the message it says before the "...could not acces this website because SSL is disabled"

Could not initialize the browser’s security component.  The most likely cause is problems with files in your browser’s profile directory.  Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full.  It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem.  If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features

ok try this.
go to start>run> type "firefox.exe -profilemanager"
then create a new profile. see if that fixes it. U will have to reinstall any extenstion and themes though

if this doesnt fix it then check ur security progs. one of them maybe causeing the issues.
