Unlocking Weapon Problem

Has anyone had this problem

Edit: Ok, it's all cool now, you just have to wait a few hours, I just got back from school so I wanted to check if it was fixed.

That looks like the pre 1.2 update screen when they were preparing the then new AT/Sniper unlocks

This happened to everybody when the 1.2 patch was about to be released. The L96 and P90 had been coded into the game, but no pictures or names provided, resulting in 2 selectable unlocks that were unnamed, un-pictured, and unusable until the new patch came.

LOL could this mean EA is playtesting new unlocks? (Don't hold your breath.)

But seriously, I'm not sure what's causing that screen now that 1.2 is long gone...sorry chief.

well choosing them wouldn't hurt i'd assume, since people chose those empty boxes before and then when the new patch came out they got their weapons. and you only have the MP7 and P90 left. so it wouldn't be like they can choose other weapons by default.

Ok, so I guess I'll unlock whatever weapons they are and see if it has any effect

Edit: I just tried to unlock them, but everytime I chose unlock, it would show "2 Remaining Unlocks Left" zomg, infinite unlocks for a ghost weapon... lol

Tell me what "Message from EA" do you see?
If it's a jet and it says "Download patch 1.21 now" then just pick choose later and install the patch

LoL maybe they screwed something up when changing the medal requirements. OMG

Edit: Did you get promoted currently when they lower the army medal hours? I'm guessing maybe something got messed up when they did that? What do you guys think? I'd put my money on that. We'll see if there are other occurances of this problem. It could also have something to do with the upcoming patch, who knows?

well, if there is no solution given even in the official EA forums, I am afraid there is nothing we can do from here either.

I can remember having that problem when EF was about to be released and EA had coded the two new unlocks into the game without providing pics and descriptions, but it is the first time I hear about it with regard to vanilla BF2.

chacal, please provide your PID. what weapons do you have unlocked according to your stats sheet ?

EDIT: after reading through the EA forums thread, I'd say it is most likely a gamespy account issue, caused by mod interference. They had the same problem just before EF came out, with the exception that you actually were able to select a "blank" unlock and get the weapon behind it.

If that is the case, I am afraid we'll have to wait until 1.3 is released to fix this.

This is so frustrating, it happened to me just then. I was just promoted to gunnerery seargent. I have tried restarting and tried to log out and log in again. no luck :-(

since it's the start of the weekend it can take a while for EA to realize you've gained a rank. i got 3 badges a few hours ago and they haven't shown up yet. slowly but surely they'll be there. even during the week if you rank up it takes a round or two after before you see it.
