Self-Explanatory. Post more detailed acct's of your favorite aspect of the wonderful world of snipering!
Like the scene out of Saving Private Ryan, taking out another sniper is the biggest highlight because it saves lives on your team ... second to that, I love positioning myself to defend flags.
ditto,i wish i could of picked anti-sniping and defeating offensives at the same time.defeating another sniper has a sense of pride to it,becuase its the most personal combat out there on the battlefeild, right along with dogfights.

plus you get a real badass feeling when you have a bolt action sniper rifle,a good hiding spot, and about 20 enemies laying dead or pinned down infront of your scope while your allies praise you and your enemies curse at you until they go hoarse in the throat.

Thanks for the sig quote spawnofthemist that does seem funny now that I read it

(And now for a Claymore review from my experiences. Nothing new for the veterans out here)

I've really been enjoying the claymores with the new server side Friendly Fire turned off. Before it was a TK problem trying to figure were your teammates won't be tripping them off.

The trick is to not place where Artillery will blow the Clays' up like near a flag area. Quite a few spawn points are inside buildings/shacks those are good claymore spots. I think my fav is sneaking onto the enemy airfield and putting them next to planes and helis or tanks, APC's etc. You can also ruin a Spec Ops day by Clay'n your teams assets or Clay' the enemy's assets on a already destroyed asset enemy Engineers will get a surprise when they go to repair. Also popular AA turrets, and TOW turrets are good.

If also gotten a few kills by placing clays' in high armour traffic corriders. Just place clays on top of a rock ledge, wall etc and it will det' high enough to take out any gunner on the top turrets of tanks or jeeps. transports etc. And also of course any regular infantry will be killed too.

And of course the high traffic hallways, alleys, bridges are all good ways to get a "set and forget" kill. It's really a evil grin moment when you are on the other side of the map so far away you can't hear the Clay' go off but you know that some unfortunate soul just went "Aw shit gawwdam claymore!" and you see the...

you killed "insert claymore'd person(s) here"

That's good stuff kinda like when the UPS guy finally drops off your package you've been waiting for...

And it only happens on a good squad but sometimes i'll go as support kit and follow a sniper act as his 6 o'clock guard and keep him supplied with ammo and spotting any threats he might not see the trick is of course remain as stealthy as him not letting rip with your LMG unless you have to.

I've had really sweet ammo resupply games with just following a sniper around and maybe just getting a few kills myself but getting a lot of teamwork points.

Some unnamed moron gave me -1 karma for saying C1 was ego-enflamed. Whoever that was wasn't mature enough to sign their name, but they DID call me an asshole : I DID NOT SAY SHE WAS EGO-ENFLAMED. the names were as follows = "Ego-Enflamed Nyte" / "C1" / Etc. Nyte was the ego one, smartass, not her. Take time to think before feeling all-might and unleashing the horiffic "-1". OMGzors!

/not that i care about karma

PS - who gave me the -1? whoever did, YOU were the asshole, not me.

I'd say my favorite aspect is counter-sniping because it not only requires the stealth of regular sniping, but throws in the defensive aspect of being sniped at. That goes hand in hand with sniping asshole / cocky snipers because you get to hunt their asses down.

By far, THE most gratifying moment in a sniper round has got to be killing that C4-guy about to blow up a friendly tank, man that feels GOOD!

I chose all except clay killing, and killing the ego guy.

I use clays for self-defence most of the time.

I'll leave on clay at a recently capped flag and bring one with me if no support is readily available.

Or I set traps with them (put them by barrels, lol)

it gives me much satisfaction if you in a squad, rushing to next base with few jarheads to get the flagg but you as sniper jump out bit sooner, to observate and help deffend your squadmembers while they get the flagg you keep the area clean and safe...when objective complete ..."hey, i need a ride"... and go go to next base...

I love sniping, but when I'm prone over a claymore I deployed. As soon as someone knifes me, they get a nice little surprise

Other (specify)

I personally prefer semi-auto for infantry maps , headshot or 3 shots - depends on situation , sometimes 3 shots are better ...

The single time I sniped a Cobra pilot was just too sweet, I see the message pop up That I killed him and I go OMG! then I see the Cobra with the gunner plummet to the ocean and a small tear rolled down my cheek... not really... I probably screamed out PWNED BITCH! or something immature like that

excellent. i know exactly what you mean. i like it especially when you are in a coordinated squad that does just that, and does not try to whore all kills and miss out on the benefits of sniping. excellent post. +1

ps. i noticed you are from belgium. in that respect, i respect you for learning the massacred form of english used (mostly) on these forums. in an effort to protect you from some anal-retentive pricks that like to ridicule others who at least try to learn a foregin language, flag only has 1 "g" and defend only has 1 "f". sorry if you feel patronized, but I just came from a forum where everybody was focusing more on spelling that the subject at hand.

I love killing people who don't even know they're being watched....evil grin...
or when they think they got away...claymores are fun for random ambushes and booby-traps.
In general, I love just making people want to continuously look over their shoulder.

...Never stop running.  If you do, he'll find you...

I love making a base uncapturable by infantry with a couple of well placed claymores. Put them in the right place and you can wipe out a whole squad. I also love anyone willing to sit in the top of a tank, it's almost too easy.

best thing about snipers, is to take them out with an eryx after they missed the first shot

Taking out the pilot or gunner from a moving chopper/jet has to be a personal favorite.  They are so rare in occurance that it really makes the instance stand out.

IE:  Being raped on the tower at Sharqi by the MEC Chopper (gotta hate going up against that AP gun).  As the pilot pulled the chopper up next to the helipad, I had a split second where he and I where looking right at each other. (I believe the gunner was killing some teammates of mine to my left at the moment)  1 .50 cal bullet to the dome and the chopper plowed into the side of the building.

It's a satisfying feeling.

Sniper Duels are fun... especially when you get the kill shot off 1/2 sec before the other sniper does.
