So I was playing a game of SF today, Insurgents on Warlord. I was coming up to cap the carpark neutral, and I saw the first wave of SAS troops, firin' their guns all over the place (innuendo, ftw) so I climbed up onto the building just east of the flag, and sniped them with it. They were just noticable and slow enough to be shot from about 150+ metres out. One accused me of hacking, promptly switched teams, joined the squad I was leading, teamkilled me, left my squad, and switched back to SAS.

The unlocks just don't come close to the pow-ah!

Yep, the AK's kick the ass of everything in terms of being the all-around gun. I find I can kill an average of 4-5 guys a clip. However the unlocks are pretty good guns too. They're just better siuted for certain situations.

hell yer man... unlocks are useless (see my sig) iv been using that thing ever since a pro mate of mine told me to use it after i became skilled i switched from using my unlocks back to basics an im like wow.. im in love greatest gun in the game

I still prefer the G36E or even (god forbid) the L85A1. The AK can lose it's accuracy a bit on the LONG range which I can reach with my G36E or even (*shudders*) my L85A1.

Well, i think some stock weapons are better then the Unlocks well in case of me i make more kills with it

i preffer the by kit :

Spec op - USMC & MEC stocks
Sniper - USMC unlocks - MEC the SVD or the M95 (citymaps only) in open both sides L96A1
Assault - USMC & MEC stocks
Support - USMC Mg36 and as MEC the RPK (stock)
Engineer - USMC & MEC stocks
Medic - USMC & MEC stocks
AT - USMC & MEC DAO12 or P90

i dont play a lot PLA so i dont really know about those guns.

Its kinda sick how good the gun is, but well balanced is better than being really good/shitty in areas.

The AK-101 and AK-47 are indeed great guns. If I'm on a team that has them, I use them over my preffered unlock, the G36E (I'm a medic). You can absolutely RAPE the other team with that gun, it's insane.

Main difference is that the AK-101 uses the same rounds as M16A2 (5.56 NATO) instead of the old 7.62 Kalashnikov rounds.

Although realistically, the 5.56 loses energy faster than the 7.62, thus isn't as good at a greater distance. I own an ak101 and the ar15a2 and my ar15a2 is much more accurate (both are 5.56), god bless Rock River Arms.
I sold my ak47 because the accuracy was worse but the distance was there...? I traded down, for competition. You want accuracy build an ar10, .308.

Just summing up what everybody else has said:

AK-47: 7.62x39mm
AK-74: 5.45x39mm
AK-101 : 5.56x45mm (5.56 NATO)

All are rimless cartridges. Essentially the 101 was created so you could use the common NATO ammunition in your dirt-cheap rock-solid reliable Avtomat Kalashnikov. The '47 has better penetration and range, but the accuracy isn't there, due as much to the crappy ammunition the Russians and Chinese make as to the loose tolerances of the firearm itself, which of course is a primary contributor to its reliability.

I agree the ak 101 is the one of the best, although the pkm can be a real pain to a herd of unfortunate victims, its what i call a sniper elminator, but the 101 is far superior for medium / short ranges.
and the reload action, showing the mag taped underneath the other, really gives you the profesional spirit.

If you know how to use it, the G36E is the best gun in the game. It has great accuracy and its burst fire mode keeps the kickback down a great deal.
