Looks like Dell just officially bought Alienware.....might not be too late to get a machine before Dell messes with them.....need to come up with $5K quick.....

My Brother Inlaw bought an Alienware Computer after he got back from the Middle-east.  I was not impressed at all with the hardware they were putting into it.

Second Rate Asus MB, Generic Ram, Steel Case (Which is freaking Huge!)

He could have built a system twice as better for half the cost.  Needless to say, he hears that all the time.

I have no complaints about my Alienware system whatsoever.

It is a sad day when Dell can buy Alienware. They claim it will not change how they make their PC's, but we'll see.

I wonder how this will affect my warranties and maintanance issues.  If I want to upgrade a card or some other part of the CPU, what is my SOP for that?  Mail it out like with Alienware or send it to someplace "Dell local". (Thank the gods that I live near Austin)

Alienware is for noobs. Sure, i'll pay $5,000 for a PC thats barely worth  $1,500.

I think Alienware will become a little more mainstream now though. Plus they have the marketing machine behind them known as Dell.

Will the XPS be replaced by Alienware...I wonder.

LOL... The home page already have a Dell "Look & Feel".

BTW... tried to buy an Alienware and the ordering process "s...ck" big time. (It ain't easy to order outside USA). Cancelled the order and went back to Dell... Got an Inspiron XPS Gen 1 and Gen 2... the best laptop I ever had so far... and got both within 7 days I place my order....

I wouldn't be worry if I was an Alienware user/lover. I just wonder what will happen with the XPS line at Dell.

Being that Alienware has been the biggest joke in the "high end/gaming" community since it existed, I'm surprised Dell would even waste the time acquiring them. I guess they just bought a name, if anything. Alienware are the biggest overpriced POSs around.

At least Dell didnt over charge for their sub-par products. Now maybe Alienware computers will be priced properly?

Quit reading my mind.  I grow quite weary of it.
