What Should BF3 Have Been?

I'm not really into the futuristic shooter genre. I've play UT4 and enjoyed it but nowhere as much as Rainbow Six and BF series. I'm much more into historical or modern warfare.

Anyways, for those of you who share my sentiments I am curious what you would have liked for BF3 to cover. For me, I would have liked:

1) BF 1982 (Cold War)
2) BF 2032 (Next Gen Warfare). This would not be so difficult to do because most of the weapons from this period are already in development now. Don't give me hover crafts, give me a next generation tank. Don't give me cloaking for snipers, give me improved camo.

What are your thoughts?

well actually Cloaking snipers arent too far fetched they have already developed a Jacket that can show whats behind the wearer i have a pic somewhere of it in action it doesnt work that great but if they put some effort and money into it who knows but i would like something realistic along the way of the current next gen weaponary and vechiles

Yeh but I'm guessing there's no easy way to power it unless that person wants to carry 10 car batteries around or something.

nah i think it is developed using photo sensitive chemicals so does not require a battery. Or so the one i read/hear about was.

its what BF vietnam was to BF 1942

BF2142 is a response to a resurgent Planetside and the upcoming ET Quake Wars

Well next installment then. Preferably, I would have liked to have seen WWI. There's not much else, only reason i don't like the cold war is cuz of too much MGS3

Those are my thoughts. I would have loved to use the XM8 carbine, while about to enter my RAh-66 Comanche Stealth Helicopter before bailing out to knife some guy in the back, and spot a North Korean soldier trying to steal a dead americans M29 SABR OICW.

XM8 is now standard issue with certain areas of the military. No longer called the XM8, M8 now. X means experimental. I know the SEALs use them too.

Alright, the Cold War had no major battles except in espionage.
if you want sneaky spy games theres Splinter Cell and MGS.

BF2142 would actually be BF4 not 3.
