War College Ribbon is by far the hardest for the ones you have listed and being the only ribbon i don't have i have to pick it.

Meritorious Service Medal if you do the 100 hours per kit this medal should just about be in reach

Medal of Valor just takes times and if your good in a chopper and run with a good  gunner you will get this medal

Expert Knife cannot belive people still have problem with this one with so many bad sniper iun the game

Expert Explosives is now very eazy with ff off one mines and claymores

Expert Engineer (repair) not that hard on maps like warlord where there are always lots of spec opts shit heads running around

Legion of Merit Ribbon suprised to see that one in this list the hardest thing about this one is the 200 hours

The Legion of Merit takes the cake. Come on, 1000 REPAIR points?! It'll take freaking forever.

...you mean meritorious service medal?

anyway, my vote goes to the medal of valor.  i've played for over 500 hours and i have just over 1000 driver points.  unless i get really good in a chopper all of a sudden, i don't see me getting that medal.

I think the Purple Heart would be the hardest to get.  How can you die 20 times in a round and only kill 5 enemies?

to people talking about the WCR and team switching:

To all the people complaining about others switching teams before the end to avoid a loss - this cannot happen! Because if you played on MEC for the whole game and then switched to US to avoid the loss you will still get a loss because you played on the losing team for MOST of the game. The win or loss is calculated on which army you played most with during that round. This is how it works im afraid so you are all wrong - and anyone of the few that get the WCR fully deserve it - congrats.

BTW i am going to get this ribbon soon  (on a different account).

According to http://bf2s.com/award.php?sort=1

The difficulty to obtain them is ordered as following:

1 War College ribbon
2 Medal of Valor
3 Meritorious Service Medal
4 Expert Engineer Badge
5 Expert Explosives Ordinance Badge
6 Expert Knife Combat Badge
7 Legion of Merit Ribbon

I don't know the age of that page, but according to that page the expert grappling hook is probably the most difficult to obtain, because there is nobody who has it...

Expert repair badge took me nearly four weeks of trying and have been playing engineer kit for nearly 190 hours and still only have 900 repairs.

WCR for ribbon. Stupid Requirements.

Medal of Valor for medal, 5000 driver ablity points is hard.

Man, I thought the 5000 driver ability points was the easiest part of the Medal of Valor.

I voted for Expert Engineer. Must be playing on 50-64 player servers that prevents me from getting any more than 12 or 13 repair points in a round. Just seems damn impossible to do on anything but a really, really long game.

well, i have the WCR (not gloating, just as an example....ok maybe gloating ) and at the time it was a bitch to obtain.  now that i have it, i dont remember it being all that hard.  it just took a lot of playing on 16 player servers.

expert repair doesn't seem all too hard either.  i have around 70 hours as engineer and i have somewhere between 600-700 repairs.  so thats almost 100 repairs per ten hours of play.  seeing as how much of the time i'm an engineer is when i'm in a tank and not gaining a whole lot of repair points, getting 25 IAR doesnt seem all too hard.

i think it all just depends on how you play the game.  if youre a lonewolf who plays 64 person servers, then the WCR will be the hardest.  if youre purely support, then expert knife or explosives could be hardest.

War College Ribbon -> it's all about winning rounds, so switch to the winning team and quit if you can't. definitevely not worth it tho

Meritorious Service Medal -> hard but it's a matter of time. the most difficult part are the 1,000 repair points, but i've earned 20 of them in a couple of rounds at op smoke screen, just be an engy on a dpv and chase your own tanks

Medal of Valor -> just a matter of time.. i'll be getting it in the next year i think :p

Expert Knife -> got it, long round @ karkand or sharqui and there you go, not really difficult.

Expert Explosives -> should have gotten it back in 1.2 times at karkand spamming clays :'(

Expert Engineer (repair) -> you have to find a very long round...

Legion of Merit Ribbon -> got it, not difficult at all, play medic on karkand and you'll get loads of points, way past the 50s.

the most difficult award to get for me is the aerial service ribbon, dammit i've tried thousands of time and always came up with 15 - 16 frag. and the only round in which i got 22 frags ended before i got the 15 minutes ....

I picked the War College just because I've only seen one person that has it and a win loss ratio of 3:1 is retarded.

But right after it is the explosives badge, most people don't even get 37 kills in a round much less 37 explosive kills...thats just stupid...

I'm never gonna get the War College Ribbon. 3:1 win to loss ratio is out of your control. Even if you're a great commander, if you've got 31 lame players on your team you're gonna lose. IMO it should be based more on commander skills than simply win:loss ratio. And EA have changed the way in which wins/losses are recorded to discourage the large numbers of people that would just try to switch teams at the end of a round to log a victory, which really used to annoy me when you've worked your ass off to win the round then some muppet switches when you die and you find yourself on the losing side. I find the best way to avoid losing is don't play as USMC. I don't know why it attracts all the crappier players on a server but it does. My win:loss ratio as PLA is 1.6, as MEC it's 1.25 yet as USMC it's only just 1.
