Only problem with APC vs tank, tank can turn on a dime. If I see an APC who knows where to aim, I'm going to spin my tank in a circle so your missile wont strike my treads. Or if were close I'm charging straight at you, as was said APC's dont go backwards very fast. Of corse another very good advantage to the APC is map defense. Get 2 or 3 others in it with you and just roam the map making a quick run to any flags that turn gray. Gives you the speed of a jeep and the security of flag capping with a tank (sorta) watching your back. Can make the difference between victory and defeat on a map.

I have used both tanks and APCs, and I doubt an APC would ever win a head on battle of equal skilled drivers with a tank. However using hit and run the APC can do some damage as was pointed out. The problem is a good tank driver wont just stand around while you go in circles, he will be positioning himself to take you down. But in the end, its your teams that really effect how well you do in any armor. If your team is helpless your facing the enemy armor and 10 AT's all with one goal on their mind. If your team is good the infantry will keep the enemy tank busy giving you easy kills. Meh, gotta hate when you start doing good in a tank and 2/3 of the enemy team respawns as anti tank or spec ops just to take you down.

I disagree... my 60h in armor is 2/3rds APC. and my K: D ratio in armor is 2.6, so it is safe to say the APC can beat a good tanker IMO.  I just can't beat 2 good tankers at once! LOL (ok, so maybe I can, but it is rare...) No, you will NEVER beat 2 tankers at once unless they blind AND retarded. And in a tank vs APC fight 'GOOD TANKER' will win 95% of the time because 1. He's Engy he'll pop smoke and repair if you hit and run. 2. He won't miss like a bitch.


I find the big difference is I will spot the tank, and hold off my missile shot till I know I can get an escape route (if a second tank rolls up, or that badly timed AT trooper after I finished the tank off.) Then place the missile at the tread of the tank. After that it is just clean up (10 shots typically with the cannon). That's assume he doesn't bail, and Isn't AT. I've taken down APCs with a single shell, smoke, AT rocket, get back in.


Obviously, in maps where you have taken over the armor assests (on Sharqi for example, both tanks and APC), then I find the best combo is 2 Eng, and one support. It is nearly unstoppable (unless they have both Heli's, then it's even). Single heli, solo TV guided. Must I say more? You don't even stand a chance

If I get to a point where I have a 4.00 Kill: Death ratio overall in the APC, I'll write a guide for it. For now, I am still learning little tricks to this all purpose killing transport APC = Spawn Raping Specialist. 'Nuff Said. It takes down infantry faster than a tank. That's all its good for.

I consider myself both a master of armor (typical 35-65 kills and 0-3 deaths) and plane whoring (typical 60-90 kills and 0-2 deaths), and I can say without a doubt it's harder to whore well in a (fighter) plane than a tank or APC. I don't fly bombers, so I can't comment on them.

APC is my preferred method of fragging infantry with an armored vehicle. However even the best APC driver will get owned by even a slightly competent tank driver. The only way you're taking a tank down with an APC is if the tank driver is a horrible player who can't aim the main gun.

A tank is more effective at taking out enemy armor, but obviously the splash damage on APCs make it excellent as an anti infantry weapon, and also a very competent anti armor weapon as well, but it will still lose out to a tank 1 v 1.

I agree with Vassili. The APC rocks till the the armor comes from around the bend. Just depends on your objective. Get points, escort infantry, intercept other armor. ect.

When I see a tank pop smoke I typically shoot to see if he's moving. Not to mention, you would see the tank "pop-up" on the mini map. That to me means shoot around the tank... with the splash damage, you'll get lucky most of time.

Agreed ... this works. But how often? When you "pop" out to shoot the AT rocket, your on the port side of the tank. If I see the tank show up on the minimap, that is where I typically shoot next.
Like I said, two tanks is RARE; and as to the skill of the player, I'm not going to chase down everyone's stats, but in game they have shown skill.

This was discussing 2 tanks and an APC working as a convoy.  Single heli removing all three threats with a single TV missile? If so, I want you as my next heli gunner!
Not going to happen. If it does, than that is a great pilot / gunner.

You were intitled to your opinion, and I respect it. To only use this to rape spawn points though? That doesn't take any skill.
The point was whether it could be considered stronger than a tank... I say yes, and you say no... We'll play against one another, one on one, and prove the point.
