I read here that one of the tapes to be released is the previously leaked tape so it would seem it's down to the one unseen tape to prove or disprove what happened. I agree with you that for the most part public image will prevent politicians from saying what's really on their mind about most conspiracies. But if you want an example of a unproven conspiracy theory which most of congress publically claims to believe in, then try the one where this dude in a cave and his network of co-conspirators infiltrated the US and flew some planes into buildings. Most of these symbols are merely signs of structural collapse.
