well 6800 will run bf2 fine, still a great card.  7800 GT is well better.  For some kind of future proof id go for the 7800

u will be able to play bf2 on everything on high with the 6800 but if u get the 7800 u wont have to spend money on a new video card for at least the rest of this year or maby 2 so i think u should get the 7800 u will save money in the long run.

Yeah, the Reason im Upgrading is because I was a Unreal Fan
but got sick of it,  and when Unreal Tournament 2007 Comes out I want to be ready for it.

Edit:

Of Course Bf2 With everything on high and AA at 4X would be nice too

It's a tough call to say which card to go with.  The 6800GS is intended to replace the 6800GT cards which are slowly running dry in the AGP sector, and probably more expensive getting one too.  The 7800GS is to bring a GeForce 7 series to the AGP front and to replace the high-end AGP cards (the 6800GT and Ultra) with something a little more current.  Either cards will perform just fine for BF2.  However, you'll have to ask yourself the question if you truly need something this powerful (from either cards).  The primary thing is that AGP is phasing out.  To get a card now would mean you're intending on keeping your current system for another 2 years (at best).  It's a good upgrade nonetheless but it'll be a waste if you plan on upgrading to a more current platform (read: PCI Express) within the 2 year timeframe.  If you're absolutely sure you'll be keeping the setup around for a long time, get the 7800GS as it'll give you enough processing power to handle future titles with ease.  Otherwise, I say evaluate your options and consider whether if it's worth the money spent on getting a new card.

yeah, the Problem i have is my AGP mobo is only a month old, The CPU was a fortune but its socket 478 =\
And the computer apart from the X700 GPU is Perfect.

the only thing Im not sure about is AGP8X a lot slower than PCI-E 16

I would definitely NOT buy hardware like that on eBay. Newegg.com is the way to go.

I would also go for the 7800 GT.

in my experience zipzoomfly has pretty good rates too. I buy my hardware from them, when I have occasion to do so.

The 6800, and x800 are pretty much equal to one another, so don't waste money on something unless it's an upgrade. Go for the 7800, it will last you longer, and it's actually an upgrade over the x800.

Edit: I noticed the 7800 you linked to is almost $500, save yourself almost $200, and get this one. It's cheaper, and it's an overclocked version.

I just bought a eVga 7800GTX KO from newegg.
Next day air.... I couldn't wait

But They actually called my bank then got my phone number from them then called my house just to make sure it was really me that ordered it. For security purposes I guess or just because it was my first time ordering from them(newegg.com). But I was impressed by that alone. How many other places do that for you?

First of all, he is getting a AGP-card, thats 7800GS. 2nd of all, he is buying from a Australian dealer, so i assume he is from there.

500 AUD is about 350 USD, Newegg.com is the best option, IF u live in USA. NewEgg.com doesnt ship worldwide.

U should be able to find a 7800GS in Australia for 300USD. Happy hunting.

It arrived!!,

5900 3d marks with 1024pk AA X4

8)

The only thing I am noticing is I have everything on Medium - high in BF2 and it takes a second for it to stop stuttering when I get into a map.

Dunno why this is but it will work itself out im sure
