IMHO, as long as you don't TK or shoot at people when they take off in your unofficial private tank or vehicle, then so be it.  Only time I hate vehicle whores is when they shoot you when you grap it before they do.

Yes, I do take APCs and tanks as much as possible, cause I think I do very well with them, but I won't wait forever just to get one while my team (squad) is trying to capture flags.

Personally, I like playing armor and flying helicopters because it's fun and I know it's the best way to assist my team in working toward a victory. I don't always spawn near armor or the helipad, but if there's an unused LAV or Tank and no one on my team is taking advantage of it then I'll definitely use it.

Additionally, I'm usually a much better asset for my team in the helicopter or armor. In the helicopter I can keep the other team's vehicles in check by constantly taking down their attack helis, transport helis, transports, and armor. In the tank I can easily advance on a base and support my team. I've been able to maintain a 11+ KD ratio in armor pretty much since the game came out. With that kind of ratio playing in armor is the best thing I can do for my team because it turns the ticket count in my team's favor. It's not whoring, just a part of the game, and if you don't like it, adapt.

On my old AnD-MasterMatt account I got a kill streak on Karkand of 62 in an LAV and got a KD of 84/1 for the round. Needless to say, there were numerous people calling me an armor whore. The funny thing is, the other team had their primary armor base, which spawns 2 LAV's and 1 tank. Only one person on their team used the tank while the 2 LAV's sat unused for pretty much the entire round. If they wanted to stop me all they would have to do is triple team me with 2 LAV's and the tank. Although, I've actually beaten those odds on several occasions before

ok there is no such thing as an armor whore...The reason is EA wouldn't be handing out expert badges and medals for like 450 hours in a tank!!!!!!!!!

People need to deal with it.. we don't call engineers repair whores cuz they run around repairing everything do we? NO!! so keep playin the way you are and forget the babies!!

Anyone who has called anyone an armor whore should stop bitching, get an Anti-Tank/Spec Ops kit, and go blow that Armor up...

I was in that game I remember it clearly.  I was on the other team and it was frustrating as hell, but that's the game.

I bitch about armor, when they are frigging killing me, but that is to myself.

Sometimes, when it gets too bad, like they have killed me 5 times in a row, I just have to laugh.

I could care less if someone keeps coming out in armor and dominating.  What the hell is wrong with that, it's part of the game.  I just try to figure out a way to kill them, occasionally I do with my AT, or I help set up a spec ops person to do it.  That is when I really feel good about it.  I was dueling with a tank last night.  He couldnt get to me from distance, I thinK I had one hit on him.  He rushed in and killed me, but it was a lot of fun.  He was a really good driver though, he outsmarted me.

If your good at armor then go for it.  If you are hogging all the armor from everyone else on your team then maybe that is an issue.


The only thing I dislike in this game is when a map has a non cappable flag, the enemy has all the other flags and they gather all the armor and crap and sit on the non cappable flag.  Especially when you just got on the server and it is like this, at that point I usually leave and go find a server to actually play the game on.

This is the smartest thing anyone has said in this thread so far. the problem is that the reason the friendly tank driver isn't stepping up to take out enemy armor is that 99% of the time he is busy raking up easy kills of his own on the ther side of the map. I dont belive in anything "whoring" my own stats arent very good, but I still love BF2. I play because its fun, and if I get owned by a guy in armor it's because he is better at playing armor than I am at playing an anti-armor kit. Yes, the armor has the advantage, but it's supposed to!! it's fucking armor!!! the problem I have is when I'm spamming "enemy tank spotted" and I'm hiding for my life as an assult kit and I look at the map and see friendly armor a block away refusing to come help me out....it gets old.


I go by this axion when playing BF2: STFU and play what your good at, but play it the right way.

Haha come on out of your total 321 hours, 270 of them are in tank. You've been playing in tank longer than you've played regular bf2. Thast guy was asking a legitimate question and the answer based on your stats in "NO!". I can take out most armor or make them run but I do hate it when they're multiple armor and apcs working together. Haha it's teamwork but you don't stand a chance and it's not fair when they're spawn rapuing/camping like that. Go ahead keep doing armor if it's fun to you. Which is what matters most. But it wouldn't hurt to get your infantry stats up.

If you're in a tank and doing your damn job well, I refer to you as an armour whore. Much like I do the same for chopper crews and pilots. Not derogatory, just easier than trying to use a more polite term.
I LIKE armour. Can't use a tank too well myself, but they're handy to hitch lifts on, as a skilled armour whore can net lots of free points in assists, and I can steal a few kills off him and anyone nearby.
APCs I actually LIKE driving, but I tend to hitch lifts from time to time as it beats walking. A deathtrap more often than not, but if you know when to bail, you're fine.
(Choppers I'm still learning. Can gun alright, need practice with the TV missile, and still can't figure out where I'm going wrong with the hovering, but I can get from A to Bailout pretty well.)
(Jets I can get by on due to having slightly rusty dogfighting skillz from WW2 flight sims.)

And it is entirely possible to whore transports. Cart squads around, slaughter people on the mounted gun, hang around behind tanks fixing them, and go Carmageddon in crowded areas. Quite fun to do on Mashtuur, and going carmageddon is best around the Square point at Karkand and on the main routes into the city on Jalalabad. Love to hear the sound of bodies hitting the bodywork.
