Congrats! Any relocating required or is it close to where you live now?Pochsy wrote:
I was offered the job I interviewed for last Friday. Was offered the lower end of the salary range they gave, but all is well as I really have no experience in this industry to speak of. Really Thrilled. Interviewed on a Friday morning, offered the job Monday at 9am.
Now I just have to get a Criminal Record background check done, and have my references come through without damaging me too much.
Yay!
No relocation needed. My commute will be about 45min one way with traffic. I'm really hoping I can find someone to carpool with just to cut the cost of gas a little. Even with the cost of gas I'll be making more now than I did at my old job.bugz wrote:

Cultural Public Policy. I'm a junior policy analyst who will primarily be doing research to improve the economic benefit of culture projects in one of Canada's largest cities. Things like museums, filming allowances, events/celebrations, concerts, and art galleries.pirana6 wrote:

You know, every time I watch a show like Love It or List It, or House Hunters and some person from Toronto is crying about a commute of 20 minutes to work I die a little inside. What's with the ravines too? Every house seems to have a ravine in the backyard.Pochsy wrote:

20min withot traffic on one of our busiest highways is more like 45min with traffic.
The ravine thing is a design feature most planned communities incorporate. You're looking at the water reservoir for the neighborhood. We do have hilly topography in Toronto as you move into the suburbs, but 90% of it is reservoirs.
