Uni is going a lot better than the first time i tried it. The reading's great, the lectures are interesting and the professors aren't overly pc twats; they actually manage to make the classes fun.
Right now i'm on course for passing my first semester and the second one should be even easier.

a big part of it is filmed downtown U of T campus. we also just had the total recall remake filmed here last summer. apparently its the go to place for 80s remakes

Toronto and Vancouver seem to have a fair number of movies filmed there. It's probably a lot easier than obtaining lengthy permits to film in NY or LA.

I haven't seen the new Total Recall, and know little of the Robocop reboot, but IMO a lot of what made the originals work was the underlying campiness that Verhoeven put into the films. Not sure if the reboots can/will accomplish that.

ya theres stuff filmed here all the time. good will hunting was actually filmed in the residence i lived in and theres tv show filming basically every week. i think at one point last year we had owen wilson, samuel l jackson and woody harrelson all filming separate movies on our campus at once. rumour has it owen and woody would get high with students all the time...
