There'd be very little gain in switching guns just for the final, probably a decided disadvantage. High end double barreled guns are wafer light anyway.
I don't follow shotgun events, but I'm not aware of any shoots which only allow one shot throughout, usually its two, for one or two clays, so most people would only ever shoot a double.
