Interesting article. Really goes to show just how counter productive the entire anti-gun movement has been lately.
Bad thing happens.
People scream for guns to go away so bad things don't happen.
Legislators take notice because less guns equals less bad things.
Gun owners get scared, go and by more guns.
People who think they MAY want to own a gun, go and buy a gun.
Those people all need ammo for new guns.
Ammo starts going through a shortage.
People start buying EVEN more ammo, in case we run out of ammo.
Ammo starts an even bigger shortage.
The Fed starts buying more bullets in case of a shortage.
Conspiracy theorists claim government is buying up all the bullets and CAUSING a shortage. "Inevitable government police state coming"
People panic, get over patriotic, decide to buy more guns.
At the end of the day, the greatest salesmen for the gun industry were the anti gun advocates.

Wounded Knee?
EDIT
NO idea.
20 Medals of Honour awarded for this one battle.
Guess there was a different definition of 'honour' back then.

Is this typical of EM? Factually wrong assertions?
Wounded Knee was not a massacre at a school.
According to Wikipedia, School shootings

In other countries it goes like this:
Bad thing happens
Government ban guns
Fewer bad things happen
I would say they scenario you've detailed is caused by pro-gun lobbying which prevents banning them, not by the anti-gun lobby who want to ban the guns. If there was no one standing in the way of them being banned it wouldn't pan out like that at all.
you don't get it, do you? guns are required to protect freedom. no guns = no freedom. are you against freedom or what?Bertster7 wrote:

if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out.
guns = no oppression
you can have freedom without guns
there is one way the government can ban everyone from owning guns.
felons can't own guns so get the people you don't trust to be convicted of a felony and problem solved.
the US already had the highest incarceration rate per capita in the world,

Worst school massacre ever.
The whole reason for the existence of the 2nd. Protect the people from the government.
A government should fear its citizens and not the other way around.
I know that would seem a strange idea for someone from Russia, where fear of the government has existed for decades.
The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
Except Americans are too lazy to do anything about government injustices. Where are the massive protests against the NSA and all the other things Americans are "outraged" by. Everybody gets to sip their Starbucks latte and post political rhetoric on Facebook and that's good enough for them.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.

And theres nothing you can doooooooooooo
it's not strange - it's idiotic. the weapons that us citizens are allowed to keep do exactly nothing in the ways of making the us government "fear the people". zilch.Stubbee wrote:

what, because our government has tomahawk and cruise missles? a1-m1 tanks? nukes?
gtfo russkie, our Rugers cannot be defeated or overcome!

nukes? flash bangs, tear gas, rubber bullets, lightly armored vehicles and a small number of people who actually know what they are doing is all your government would require to put down any number of idiots armed with shotguns and revolvers - and that without even seriously damaging them.
or they could simply turn off heat, electricity and water and wait until you come out with your hands up.
2nd amendment is totally obsolete. it's time to re-evaluate your 200-yeas-old notions about guns, government, freedom and all that jazz.

Its obsolete because the govt weaponry has moved so far ahead in the past 200 years whereas citzens weaponry essentially hasn't moved since about 1920.
It made some sense when the govt had muskets and the citzens had muskets.
Now the govt has M1 tanks and Predator drones - and listens to everyones phone calls unimpeded - AR15s are entirely redundant.
The govt fears people not paying tax more than it fears the Montana Militia storming the White House.
That said its best if the govt and Police don't have absolute power, a citizenry which can at least force a stalemate is better than nothing.

Fuck Israel
Wouldn't you argue that the intent of the second amendment was to maintain something of a parity between government & civilians in terms of arms/arms capability? eg. People can buy quadrotors for $500. I think citizens capabilities have moved on a bit since the 1920s somehow.
The disparity arrives when governments circumvent the democratic processes which the 2nd amendment (and similar laws elsewhere) were designed to protect. It sucks when you look at your own government and think "wait, whats this bullshit, weren't we bagging those commie cunts for this 10 years ago?"
