Humanity survives in tiny pockets. Most die out. Few propagate and spread. Wipe the slate clean for the most part.

Humanity goes extinct entirely. And some other species evolves into a highly intelligent and technical one. They discover ancient human fossils and artifacts millions of years in the future and produce a clone from some DNA they find. We are introduced into their society and collectively slowly discover mysteries about our ancient past. We eventually out compete with our life bringers and kill them all.
