Since the FDA now has jurisdiction over tobacco products, they would have the power to enact a ban like this:

U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL), Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) in sending a letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) asking it to ban flavored cigars.

“Cigars with candy-like flavorings such as strawberry, watermelon, vanilla and chocolate attract kids to smoking and help hook them on this addictive habit,” the Senators wrote.  “Congress helped protect young people from the harmful effects of tobacco by banning flavored cigarettes.  But as youth cigarette use has fallen, cigars have become more popular among adolescents.  We urge FDA to immediately close the current regulatory loopholes and prohibit flavored cigars in the interest of public health.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of the 13 million Americans who smoke cigars, an estimated 1.8 million are high school students and 475,000 are middle school students.  This ban would help decrease the staggering rate of cigar use by children and young adults by removing these harmful products from the marketplace.

Are they really this out of touch that they have zero fucking clue why all these cigars are being purchased by teenagers? I have never in my life seen a teenager actually smoke tobacco out of a cigar

fucking libs at it again...

how about enforcing the laws that make it illegal to sell to minors? i enjoy a shitty Game grape-flavored cigar, often paired with a 40 of malt liquor. ain't my fault that people can't raise their kids right and Gurdeep at 7-Eleven doesn't card them.

I'm pretty damn anti-smoking, but a ban like this just makes my side look like idiots. Let's ban flavored cereal, since obesity is such a problem!

Yaaay.

Sliced down the side, tobacco and paper liner removed, filled with weed, rolled, smoked. Whether you were being facetious or not, that's what people mean when they refer to blunts.

people actually think these things are manufactured for their tobacco smoke?  the only time ive seen someone smoke a convenience store cigar was when one of my old neighbors woduld smoke one, he was also in his 70's and pretty broke. also had an e-7 in psyop who was a firefighter who loved backwoods.  people who actually smoke cigars will never smoke one of those tobacco pulp gas station ones.

Yes, it's clearly the candy flavoring that attracts sales of cigars to kids.

Not at all. But that doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Do they think it'll hide the weedstank or something?

No, it's easier to roll than a joint, tastes better, and lasts longer.
