That's 8 years, not 16. An enlistment is 4 years.Hurricane2k9 wrote:
Shifty said he wants to serve two enlistments though. That's at least 8 years active and 8 years reserve.
Shifty, get a job at Whole Foods and a roommate if you really wanna live on your own. WF pays like $10/hr which isn't great but with a roommate you could probably scrape by.

If that doesn't work I'll get a guard card, get some job related to that, and do some computer studies to get a good paying computer job I can make a career of.
they only told you a half truth-Sh1fty- wrote:

4 years active, 4 years inactive. You're still their fuck buddy and they can rape you any time they want.-Sh1fty- wrote:

I would have been living on my own last year if the enlistment didn't require a Tier I diploma. Get off my caseJay wrote:

How would you suggest I do that? (I found a 1 bedroom apartment for $875 today) What job should I start off with to be able to afford living on my own?Jay wrote:

You can do either. 4 years in the active reserves after 4 years active duty would fulfill your commitment.Hurricane2k9 wrote:
does one have to do IRR or can they be in the actual reserves? i have a friend who was active in the Marines and now he still has to go to drill once a month.
I did national guard instead of inactive reserve.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

i did actual army reserve not irr but that was by choice. A handful of my friends from active duty who ets'ed before me ended up getting recalled and deployedHurricane2k9 wrote:
