yep i've been on that for years. also subscribed to a lot of oxford philosophy lectures and stuff. it's all entertaining and casually informative. nowhere near as good as actual open conferences or seminars though, of course. i'm pressured/invited to go to so much more extra-curricular shit this year. it's kinda novel to watch an hour long seminar on a topic you're studying from another university.

also pos, yep, on the subject (though i genuinely wasn't thinking of him when i made my post - i'm not in love with him) i've always had the suspicion that he's bullshitting. his attempts to write in 'good' english formal prose always come across terribly and i just cannot imagine how someone of that level could be at a top uni. though i don't know anything about entry standards.

my brother's house in downtown albany got robbed WHILE THEY WERE ALL STILL IN IT. There's 4 bedrooms upstairs, 1 downstairs and the one downstairs has no door on it. They were blasting music and all upstairs and 2 black guys came in and stole the kid who lives downstairs' laptop.

albeit this robbery was mostly due to the fact that my brother and his housemates are fucking retards (even though they did set up security cameras), just shows how ballsy criminals there are

some presidents broke into a house in College Park and killed a kid there

but apparently he had been involved in drug dealing so it wasn't quite the brazen random killing people thought it was at first

e: glad he's okay, but yeah criminals generally suck and I wish life was like BF2 where you could put down claymores that only kill the bad guys

that happened at my old school last year too. kid got into a botched drug deal, was shot in the head. kids get stabbed/shot in albany all the time too, mostly because they're fucking retards
