While no protest movement is going to be 100% on the same page I doubt many people in America are "anti-corporation" in all ways and I doubt a significant portion of the protesters would hold this view. To laugh about how hypocritical protesters are because they use products made by corporations isn't funny, clever or ironic it's just a dumb illogical argument to try and dismiss them. I agree that this protest is poorly defined and it's certainly not above being mocked but that picture pointing out the so-called irony of the protesters annoys me with its stupidity.
It's really in jest. But there is a certain "enabling" point in that image.

You know, let's put some context on this so called movement. I think it would be rather embarrassing to get behind something with so much passion when there really isn't a clear message. What did our parents say when we were upset? Use your words. Yea, we're all kinda pissed. It sure as hell isn't a minority that shares the general disapproval of corporate mngmt. And no, not every protest is 100% on the same page. But these people have nothing on what organizers did during during the civil rights movement, or during the Vietnam war for that matter. That's the kind pretty-well-defined heart felt passion that I find admirable. If it seems like I'm dismissing them it's only because I am. Get it together and I'll reconsider.

See I agree with that logic, just not the logic of that picture.

I know where you are coming from TY. ie The point isn't to destroy corporations. But rather rerouting how those corps do business.

However, I have seen images of people wishing the complete destruction of said corporations.. but again, that can't be tagged to the entire group because there is no clear agenda.

that was my original point... because they have no organisation, no coherent message, it's very easy to attack them in this way.

On the contrary, in order to be a liberal in the United States of America, one must first avow your hatred for the evil corporations that enslave us.

(evil corporation is defined as anything non-Apple, Whole Foods, or Starbucks)

It still does, if one bothers to look deeper than media tripe.

They're gathering at the flagpole on my campus and my finance professor instructed us to go out to the protests 2 at a time to find out exactly what they're protesting/demanding lol. This is after he basically got no answer when he asked them himself.

So I went out to the protests with someone and questioned them. I got that they wanted to lower student debt and protect equal rights. And were very unclear in how they were actually gonna do it. And gave us this long list of facts and vague demands referring to "they" did "x" to us constantly not explaining who "they" are.

Kanye West visited Occupy Wall Street in a $355 Givenchy shirt topped with wearing gold grills and chains.

" Producer and hip hop mogul Russell Simmons, who brought West to the protests at Liberty Square/Zuccotti Park on Monday, and who has personally been visiting the protests every day for the past 15 days, tells Fox411.com that people need to stop criticizing Kanye and focus on the issues.
“This is about the money in Washington, the whoring and the politicians,” Simmons told Fox411.com. “Kanye did a good thing. I saw all the complaints about him. Who cares? He came. He wanted to help. They all missed the point."

I was there for the tea party in the early days.  During the 08 Paul campaign.  Before it was co-opted by the man.
