Why are you talking as if America doesn't pay welfare to the unemployed? Or if it's viable to remove it.


There's always going to be unemployed people and if you don't give them a small amount so they can live a sub par existance then they're going to get money for essentials some other way, namely crime.

It's not viable to remove it. We made these people dependent on the government. We've treated them like children. What would happen if you kicked a 14 year old out of the house? They'd likely be homeless and/or starve to death. These people know no other life than receiving their monthly subsistance check for simply existing. Take it away and you'd see real anger/fear.

Nope. We have the same problem. It's why we can't reform our broken entitlement system and turn it into something that actually works.

In fact, I'm really surprised they haven't been calling for increases in the dole in exchange for less future riots. They've clearly shown that they're in charge rather than the police.

when a student strike got out of hand a few years ago, they use the cannon and it was dealt it quickly

Water cannons haven't been used mainly 'cus these haven't been "traditional" riots where all the offenders are gathered in one place, there have groups ranging from the tens to the couple of hundreds running round gathering at random places and looting, they haven't had the time to deploy water cannon.

Also 3 Asian guys have killed in Birmingham. Group had gathered to protect businesses etc. and a car ploughed into 'em, apparently they've arrested someone for it.

Go into any council estate in the shitty areas of london and they actually have some nice equipment, it's easy for them to steal from local shops or people on the steet, that's how they survive, armed robbery etc...Then re-sell what they steal and keep some for themselves, I'd imagine stealing a bb wouldn't be too difficult for them.

it's more a case of consumerism being their religion, mass media and culture indoctrinating them with a bad set of priorities and a false sense of 'material wealth = going up in the world'. these people have extremely low ambitions from life so they're hardly saving for their 3 bedroom detached in surrey... instead their disposable income goes on outward and ostentatious signs of wealth: designer clothing, fancy phones, large tv's, ridiculously over-blinged cars, etc. it's just their cultures form of one-upmanship, just like in the suburbs having a nicer front-garden or a bigger house is your way of outdoing your sociological bracket. to suggest that every poor rioting person in london has a long history of theft and petty crime is to suck your own shit so hard that your kidneys tickle your nose.

Well, it was bad phrasing, I was referring to those youths specifically rioting/looting...In which case, I think I'm more right than you are. 90% don't commit crime? You're the one full of shit if you think that, benefit fraud, tax evasion, petty theft etc... it's all crime and a lot of them do it, at all ages, they have to.
