I don't value all college degrees equally, trust me. David Beckham studies anyone?
the same can be said for almost any degree from a shit enough college, though. even subjects become irrelevant in the bottom quartile of performing colleges: the courses just exist to keep mediocre drop-out academics in tenure, and to keep on generating money for institutions that don't really give a shit about good standards or research excellence. businesses offering people dog-degrees because they're now the minimum qualification, although not everyone is academically gifted enough to merit a 'real' one.
Well, good thing I didn't go to a bad school then. The college has a 100% job placement rate for life because the alumni all look out for each other. If the school started to suddenly pump out sub-par graduates the network would dissipate. There were only 150 students at my graduation ceremony.

150 students is small? there's about 5k students at my entire university, period. a 150 student year is huge here. job placement rates mean little to nothing when it's at the hands of the graduate job market and wider (recessive) economy. looking out for one another in an alumni scheme hardly states academic excellence, either, just an old boy's network of nepotism and mutual back-scratching. that's all that public schools are about, here, and they're not a hotbed of genius talent, either.

There is no graduate program at my school. There are around 700 students total.

there are 80k students at my school, yet its still one of the top ones in the world.  what on earth does the number of students at a university have to do with its quality   they can get some of the top researchers and professors in the world because they can offer top of the line facilities, not because theyre teaching 10 kids.

and some of the absolute smartest people ive ever seen or met are teachers, high school and university level.  teaching can be a path of least resistance, but there are just as many fantastic teachers as there are lazy ones

e: i was also in the top program in the school for a year, it had less than 100 people in it and i enjoyed it far less than the program im in now with ~400 people/year

I had a 6 hour break between my Tuesday morning and afternoon class last semester. Sucked so much, especially since the afternoon teacher knew fuck all about the subject he taught.
