i don't really know how to list a life, let alone once since bf2, but
finished normal education (e.g. gcse's + a-levels)
still played quite a lot of video-games, e.g. tf2 competitively, final few days of very casual warcraft
moved away from home
began uni
didn't really play much except tf2 casually and dabbling in some new big games/mmo's - mostly all rubbish
moved in with girl
broke up with girl and moved out
did nothing except party and kill myself slowly for a year
drug problems
drama, eviction, breakdown, arrest
moved into other house
met a better, perfect girl
sorted myself out
finished uni top of class
offered scholarship and places to world top10 unis
accepted free scholarship
by this point hardly playing any games in the last 2 years, same as at start of uni - trying big titles e.g. bc2, starcraft 2, but not really hooking me
ta-da.

You can tell your friend my godfather just retired from Clifford Chance at 54 after being out in tax decent Singapore for the last 20 years. Is he doing his GDL at the College of law? I'll be doing my LPC at Holbourn and apparently it's a pile of poo.Uzique wrote:

Internship and hopefully job (touch wood) with DLA Piper (American). Not biggest by revenue but biggest by size (70 offices globally). http://www.dlapiper.com/
Definitely will be applying to Clifford Chance for a training contract.
You're at UCL uzi?
no i'm just about to defer entry from there because their 20th-21st century stuff is a bit poo.
good luck with LPC, stressful investment

Cheers bud.
it's an amazingly ranked uni but i think it's because of their size/resources. they're like 4th in the world (?!?) on overall rankings but hover around the top 20 for subjects - especially postgraduate stuff. i was set for ages on doing an MA there because, well, it's UCL and that's basically ike the modern oxbridge, but all my professors tut-tutted and said i should DO A FUCKIN RESEARCH NOOB because all of their research assessments and course/department rankings are far below places like rhul (where i'm on a scholarship) and york (who are low ranked worldwide but world-class for my subject). tl;dr i really don't know wtf to make of league rankings or reputations anymore.

I take all those rankings with a pinch of salt after the head of my law school told our year to vote 'excellent' for every category of the national student survey. My brother loves UCL and the times I've been I've had a blast although it's very different from Exeter.i really don't know wtf to make of league rankings or reputations anymore.
Although I did go to one of the UCL libraries before an interview and felt like I was in Hong Kong.
i'm in leafy surrey and it feels like shanghai at times. pretty sure that's something you're going to get at any prestigious uk uni now-- especially with the new fees / money-making treadmill. i forgot you were at exeter, thought you were at st.andrews for some reason (confusing with other scandinavian scum jensperm). s'all good, all 1994 grp.
