I've never really found myself wanting wireless...in fact, I prefer wired, if only because it doesn't just disappear, and it always points in the right direction.
I have the old Sidewinder, with the metal buttons. Love it to death. It retailed for 100 bucks back in '07, but it's a very good purchase.

hey bronze league fps gamers, do you think I would sacrifice the benefits of wireless for a placebo effect? You are so blatantly being fanboys towards your wireless mouse product of choice, try not being shit at an fps game and you would instantly notice the difference.
I've tested wireless vs wired time after time again, and the sluggishness is always noticeable. If it wasn't I would gladly switch to wireless mode.

I think that knowing what you're talking about when it comes to subtle benefits of certain mice is contingent on your fps skill. Other genres like rts also have their own niche of good mice, but are overall not as easily influenced.

Wireless is perfect, packets never get lost, there's no conflicts at all, the latency is 10x better than sending data on wires what are you on about???
